Hello, my name is Shep Owen and I’m the Senior Director for the Relief and Humanitarian 
Affairs at Food for the Hungry. This training is meant to accompany the Humanitarian 
Response Handbook which is designed to help you have a better understanding of the 
humanitarian landscape as well as what FH does within that space. It is meant to 
accompany the development of a Country Office Disaster Response Plan. This response 
plan helps fields be prepared and better respond to disasters when they hit, especially in 
high risk fields, fields that regularly have hurricanes or earthquakes for example.
