Learning Objective 3.12 The student will

a) define polygon;

b) identify and name polygons with 10 or fewer

sides; and

c) combine and subdivide polygons with three or

four sides and name the resulting polygon(s).
Pedagogy In this activity, my students are going to use Method Draw to create a
Planning personalized diagram of polygons that can be used as a study item at home.

Pedagogy Activity Students will be introduced to all polygons with 10 sides or less
than expected to define, identify, and name these different
shapes to meet this standard. The students will be introduced to
the lesson first by the teacher in a lecture-style going over the
different types of polygons and what are the names of each one.
Following the lecture, the teacher would pass out a worksheet
where students would be asked to identify the different shapes,
while this is occurring the teacher would be going around
assisting students. Following the completion of the worksheet,
go over as a class to make sure everyone knows their shapes
before the next activity. Next, the teacher would introduce the
class to a website called Method Draw and walk them through
an example. After the example, students are free to start and ask
questions if needed. 
 The in-class project that should be used as an at-home study
material should include the following things:

1. All polygons up to 10 sides

2. Name and picture of each polygon
3. A picture of the polygon being used in real life
(example: a window is a square, etc)

Technology Draw. Method Draw is through the website
