General Information:
Description:

At the end of the high school science experience, SWBAT discover relationships by making
observations and by the systematic gathering of data. They will be able to identify relevant
evidence and valid arguments. Their focus is shifted from the general to the specific and from the
simple to the complex. The SWBAT use scientific information to make wise decision related to
conservation of the natural world. The SWBAT recognize that there are both negative and positive
implications to new technologies.

CHEATING: There is a ZERO TOLERANCE cheating policy for Physical Science. If you are
caught cheating in any way on an assignment, a “0” for the assignment is recorded,
your parents will be notified and your honor code violation is reported to the
administrator. Some required forms will be uploaded in your folders VIA TEAMS.

ABSCENCES: It will be the student’s responsibility to make up all missed work after an
absence. If a worksheet or handout was missed, then it will be located in the make-up
folder. If there is nothing in the folder, ask the teacher for the handout. All work is due on
the due date for the assignment. Per Shelby County Policy students have 1 day for every
excused day absent to make up work. Makeup tests will be made up at the end of the
quarter in the form of a 9-Week Exam.

RULES:
1. Be in your seat with all necessary supplies when the bell rings.
2. Follow directions the first time they are given.
3. Respect yourself and others: No cursing or teasing. AGREE TO DISAGREE!!
4. No distractions: No grooming, no food or drinks, no electronics, no purses, bags, or clothing
in your lap or on the table.
5. Keep hands, feet, and other objects to yourself!

COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS?:

1. What is my grade? Grades are computerized. I post daily. You will have the ability
to check your grades daily through PowerSchool/ParentCONNECT. I will also send
progress reports home mid-way through the grading period. Parent signatures are
required on progress reports. You should also check PowerSchool for missing
assignments.

2. How can I improve my grade? Do all work completely and on time. Study for tests,
read chapters and don’t miss school. Attendance is the single greatest factor that
affects grades.
