NOISE ABATEMENT
SUMMER : LT minus 1 HOUR = UTC (Z)
WINTER : LT . . . . . . . . = UTC (Z)

GENERAL
The following procedures may at any time be departed from to the extent necessary for
avoiding immediate danger or for complying with ATC instructions. Every operator of
jet aircraft using the airport shall ensure that, except in extenuating circumstances,
aircraft are operated in a manner calculated to cause the least disturbance practica-
ble. Chapter 2 aircraft are not permitted to use the airport unless the operator has
received special permission from the Airport Authority. The Noise Abatement Zone for
jet and turbo-jet aircraft covers the whole island and extends 5NM beyond the coast-
line. Reduced power noise techniques should be maintained until clear of the Noise
Abatement Zone.

ARRIVALS
PROP
RWY 08, 26: Maintain at least 1300’ until intercepting ILS glidepath or PAPI indication
and thereafter descend on the facility. If under 5700kg and making a vis-
ual approach, land must not be overflown below 800’ until final approach.
Whenever cloud base permits, aircraft should maintain a circuit altitude
of at least 1300’ and make the majority of the circuit over sea.
Whenever possible, pilots should avoid overflying the island below
1000' AGL.
JET
RWY 08: Maintain 1600’ until intercepting ILS glidepath or PAPI indication and
thereafter descend on the facility.
RWY 26: Maintain 1800’ until intercepting ILS glidepath or PAPI indication and
thereafter descend on the facility.
Whenever cloud base permits, aircraft should maintain a circuit altitude
of at least 1800' and make the majority of the circuit over sea.

DEPARTURES
Noise preferential routes and procedures are depicted on Jersey SID charts.
Jet aircraft are to be operated in such a way that they will not cause more than 110
PNdB by day (0700-2230LT) or 102 PNdB by night (2230-0700LT). Maintain a rate of
climb of at least 500 fpm at power settings which will ensure progressively decreasing
noise levels at points on the ground under the flight path beyond the monitoring
terminal.

NIGHTTIME OPERATIONS
The use of this airport outside of published hours will be subject to the approval of the
Airport Authority.

RUN-UP TESTS
Run-up tests of jet engines will not be permitted outside of normal hours without the
prior permission of the Airport Authority, Tel. 07797-718688.

LOW VISIBILITY PROCEDURES (LVP)

When ATC notifies Low Visibility Procedures:
- Twy E is not available as a rwy exit.
- Intermediate twy stopbars will be used to reinforce taxi clearance limits.
- Arriving traffic on rwy 08 will vacate the rwy via rapid exit twy F or at the rwy end via twy A.
Pilots will report rwy vacated after passing the yellow/green section of twy centre-line lighting
and will notify ATC of the exit used.
- Arriving traffic on rwy 26 will vacate the rwy at the rwy end via twy B and report vacated after
passing the yellow/green section of centre-line lighting. Twy D may be available on request.
- Departing traffic on rwy 26 should follow the green centre-line lights to Holding Point A1. There
are no green centre-line lights on twy G.
GROUND MOVEMENT
Pilots have to exercise caution when using access track from the East of holding point H to the
grass parking area to ensure that they have suitable wing tip clearance on each side.
Pilots have to exercise caution when approaching rwy 26 holding points. The proximity of
Holding Points A1, G and a blocking stopbar may cause confusion.

Use of areas South of holding point H, South of holding point M and East of holding point J3 is under
responsibility of acft commander. Surface markings are not conform to intl certification standards
including twy mim separation distances. Departing acft for these areas must call ATC for start-up
and taxi clearance.
Any acft movement within these areas may be conducted solely at commanders discretion. If
assistance required contact ATC.

VISUAL DOCKING GUIDANCE SYSTEM (APIS++)

Aircraft Parking and Information System

Azimuth and stopping guidance are provided from a display unit mounted at the extension of the
stand centerline.
- Intercept the centerline and follow the azimuth guidance display.
- Check correct aircraft type/series on the APIS++ display unit.

Abort docking if display shows STOP or wrong aircraft type/series, or if the azimuth guidance
display is not activated.

Aircraft are not permitted to enter the gate stand box without active marshaling instructions from
either airfield operations or the airport ARFFS unless the associated APIS++ azimuth guidance
display is illuminated, and the correct aircraft type is displayed.

Whilst the aircraft is moving under its own power within the gate stand box the emergency stop
button at the head of the stand must be guarded by a member of ground crew able to monitor
activity around the approaching aircraft.

Should the safety of personnel or equipment be compromised during this manoeuvre, the
emergency stop button shall be pressed, signalling to the pilot that the approaching aircraft must
be brought to an immediate halt.
