She does express herself quite clearly and succinctly.

I can't say that I agree or

disagree with her sentiments. I can say, that for the first time I think I
understand the statement, 'it's pointless to discuss or argue religion or
politics'. I probably never told you that from mid 1976 until around the end of
1980 I used to be a kind of born again street preacher in NYC. Pretty much seven
days a week, for those four years, I walked around with a pair of Bibles and with
great zeal tried to convert anyone and everyone who would listen to me, to become
born again and accept Jesus as their Lord. I was a member of a christian group
made up of hippies and other social castaways. In fact that was the appeal, it was
not some monolithic institution, like the Catholic Church from which I walked away
when Father Tom cursed me out one Sunday morning, dressed in his priestly vestments
before delivering mass. I was around 12, and it shattered my belief in the Church
and in God.

The fact that we were just a loose bunch of left-over flower children who
'believed' in Jesus, did not make us kind or Christ-like. We were very harsh with
one another and especially with others who did not believe as we did. We prided
ourselves in being biblically scholarly, I actually had the Gospel of John
memorized. I would public debate and shame anybody I met, quoting chapter and
verse at will. I was a true asshole, I just didn't know it. Eventually, I parted
ways with that group and decided, NO MORE ORGANIZED RELIGION FOR ME! How I am now a
convert to Judaism is a story for another day. That journey started on September
11 2001. However, because of that journey, I have come to the realization that my
convictions, need no apologies nor the validation of groupthink. Hence, I no longer
feel the need to discuss religion. There's no point.

My experience with politics has been much less dramatic. Prior to the 2020
election, the only other election I ever cast a vote in was the 2000 election. I
voted for Ralph Nader, just so I could say I exercised my right to vote. It just
seems to be political theater to me. Republican vs Democrats, just two teams in a
boring sport I don't comprehend. Therein lies the rub. Unlike the sports world, the
players on these two teams determine the fate of the world. They are in a league
all their own, a political class that mere mortals like myself simply don't have
the time or energy to comprehend. And it's not even entertaining theater.

Maybe it's a flaw in my education. Maybe politics should be treated like a sport at
the secondary school level. Perhaps then, I would've been more interested, then
again maybe not. Maybe it's a carryover from being raised in a household where
politics were never discussed in a positive light. My parents had to escaped from
the Dom. Rep. after El Generalismo Trujillo the dictator was assassinated. Maybe
it's because I didn't have the wherewithal to be able to distinguish one group of
liars from another. They all just seem to make promises they never really keep.
Most of them go into public service as ordinary citizens and become wealthy in the
process. This appears to be true in all jurisdictions. Politics is a club, if one
can afford the admission, one can join, learn the ropes and become quite wealthy
one tows the line.

I don't only blame the politicians, I blame the people. I blame myself.

Yup, We The People, have handed the keys to the house to the servants and then went
off to the beach to have fun. We pay our taxes, they take care of the house, we go
play. We know they'r not doing a good job, we know they're stealing our stuff, but
hey, we're at the beach, who gives a fuck. Until, it's time to go home and they're
out of control and too powerful to reign in. They couldn't care less that we're
not satisfied with their performance. They make excuses, more empty promises and
we go off to the beach again. I saw the futility of this game and just gave up.

The final political death blow for me was reading Lysander Spooner's, No Treason:
The Constitution of No Authority. That's when I understood. Who ever has the
biggest or most guns has the juice. So simple.

When DJT ran for office, I hardly noticed, I was in New Zealand. I remember being
asked at the airport as we were leaving, what I thought of him. I honestly didn't
think of him at all. I was glad HRC didn't win and that's all I had to say.

Fast forward to 2020, I definitely had no intentions of voting. People back home,
people who cannot vote because they're either in prison or illegal begged me to
vote. I told them it was futile. Finally, I caved, and I was going to vote for
Kanye or the Constitutional candidate, again just so I could say I voted.
