How has Covid 19 impacted our Education in Pakistan:

Introduction

Coronavirus outbreaks on 31 December 2019. Gradually it spreads all over the


world. In Pakistan, the first case of the corona was reported from Karachi on
February 26, 2020. Later on, it spreads like a wildfire. In this article, Corona itself &
impact of Corona on Education of Students (Pakistanis) will be discussed.

Corona & Our Education:

Corona pandemic affected our health & economics dreadfully along with our
education system. People are not following SOP’s as it should be, so the
Government of Pakistan has no solution other than to close the institutes.

Effects of closure of Institutes:

As Pakistan is one of developing country, so closure of institute affects student's


education badly because of the following points:

• First of all, facilities like internet & mobile are not accessible to all.

• Teachers & students were failed to give their best.

• During Corona pandemic, Pakistan shifted its education system to an online


system but fails to get an output as getting after physical classes. After
commencement of classes student's performance affected badly as they
were not performing their homework & classwork as same as before the
corona pandemic.

• Students became lazy.

• The government does not facilitate public as it should be regarding internet


connectivity as during the corona pandemic internet users are getting more.
• Primary section education effect badly as it is difficult to teach the students
of primary section independently. Their mothers are also engage through
online learning so the responsibility transfer to the shoulders of the mother
as well.

Suggestions:
Some suggestions are mentioned below to cope with the situation of Covid 19:
• Follow SOP’s
• Devise an education system which is user friendly.
• Everyone takes online classes as an opportunity & try to do something
unique & productive.
• Try to convert your habit from traditional book reading to online book
reading.
• Parents must keep an eye on their children to make sure that they are
not wasting their time.
• Writing on paper is necessary for students who are beginners but in
secondary classes, online submission of assignments on MS office (Word,
PowerPoint, Excel) should be done. So, in this way, students also
encourage online system.
• The online class session should be interactive. In this way, after that
session student will be able to elaborate independently.
• The online system also promotes the self-learning of students.
• It is the era of information technology, so the students who are reluctant
to adopt advanced systems are also getting in touch with this system.
• In short, this is a learning opportunity for teachers, students, and
parents.
• It also gives us the message whatever the circumstances are, we never
stop our education.
Conclusion:
Initially, Covid 19 affects our education system drastically, meanwhile, it also
opens a new opportunity for learning for all of us & introduce us to the latest
IT modes of communication. It may be not introducing otherwise.
