Fuel Pressure Is Low

SMCS - 1250-035

Use this procedure to troubleshoot if any of the following event codes are active or logged.

1. Check for Codes Codes Result: An associated code

A. Connect Cat® Electronic Technician (ET) to the service
tool connector. Repair: Troubleshoot any
associated codes before

Proceed to Test Step 2.

2. Monitor the Pressure Provided to the Fuel Metering Result: The pressure

A. Monitor the "Engine Fuel Valve #1 Inlet Absolute
Pressure" parameter via Cat ET. Proceed to Test Step 3.

Result: The pressure

supplied to the regulator is

3. Check the Filter Inlet Pressure Proceed to Test Step 4.

A. Check that the main supply pressure to the filter is within Result: The pressure

Repair: Remedy the cause

4. Check the Filter Outlet Pressure

Proceed to Test Step 6.

6. Check the Gas Shutoff Valve (GSOV) for proper Operation Result: The gas shutoff
operation valve is NOT fully
opening.

A. Verify that the valve is fully open when the valve is

energized. Verify that the GSOV does not stick in a partially Repair: Repair the GSOV.

8. Check for Obstructions
