As the computed p-value is greater than the significance level alpha=0.05, one cannot reject the null hypothesis H0.

Using a significance level of 0.05, we found the p-value (0.437) to be higher than the significance
value. Hence we cannot conclude whether the presence of a Spandana branch
increased the proportion of neighborhoods where the average profit was positive

In 2005, Spandana was one of the largest and fastest growing microfinance
institutions (MFIs) worldwide. In a controlled experiment, 52 of 104 poor
neighborhoods in Hyderabad, India were randomly selected for the opening of a
Spandana branch. Loans were made to small groups of women and if all members
repaid their loans, the group was eligible for subsequent loans. Borrowers were
allowed to spend the money as they liked, and unlike some MFIs, Spandana offered
no business training or other complementary services. All households could take
out a microfinance loan from Spandana (in addition to other MFIs) regardless of
living in a treatment or control neighbourhood.
