The Engineering Technology Accreditation Council (ETAC) is a bachelor degree
delegated body by the Board of Engineers Malaysia established diploma
in early 2015 as the only recognized accrediting body for
engineering technology bachelor degree, engineering diploma
and engineering technology diploma programmes offered in
Malaysia.

The ETAC was instrumental in ensuring Malaysia’s ETAC

accredited engineering technology bachelors’ degree,
engineering diploma and engineering technology diploma
programmes are substantially equivalent to the engineering
degrees of the signatories of the Sydney Accord and Dublin

Knowledge Profile (Dublin Accord) DK
A programme that builds this type of knowledge and develops the attributes as per Dublin
Accord achieved in 3 to 4 years of study, (WITH SPM INTAKE) depending on the level of
students at entry.
DK1: A descriptive, formula-based understanding of the natural sciences applicable in a sub-
discipline
DK2: Procedural mathematics, numerical analysis, statistics applicable in a sub-discipline
DK3: A coherent procedural formulation of engineering fundamentals required in an
accepted sub-discipline
DK4: Engineering specialist knowledge that provides the body of knowledge for an accepted
sub-discipline
DK5: Knowledge that supports engineering design based on the techniques and procedures
of a practice area
DK6: Codified practical engineering knowledge in recognised practice area.
DK7: Knowledge of issues and approaches in engineering technician practice: ethics,
financial, cultural, environmental and sustainability impacts
Well-defined Engineering Problem Solving DP

Well-defined Engineering Problems have characteristic DP1 and some or all of DP2 to
DP7:
DP1: Depth of knowledge
DP2: Range of conflicting requirement
DP3: Depth of analysis required
DP4: Familiarity of Issues
DP5: Extensive applicable codes
DP6: Extend of stakeholder involvement
DP7: Interdependence
DP8: Consequences
Range of Engineering (Well-defined) NA
Activities (App B, pg B-2)
Well-defined activities means (engineering) activities or projects that have some or all
of the following characteristics:
NA1: Involve a limited range of resources (and for this purpose resources includes
people, money, equipment, materials, information and technologies)
NA2: Require resolution of interactions between limited technical and engineering
issues with little or no impact of wider issues. (Level of interactions)
NA3: Involve the use of existing materials techniques, or processes in modified or new
ways. (Innovation)
NA4: Have consequences that are locally important and not far-reaching
NA5: Require a knowledge of practical procedures and practices for widely-applied
operations and processes. (Familiarity of issues)

Apa itu OBE ?
 Satu sistem pembelajaran yang fokus dan
jelas apakah pelajar dapat lakukan dengan
jayanya selepas melalui pengalaman
belajar.
 Maka direka bermula dengan kurikulum,
instruksional dan penilaian untuk pastikan
pembelajaran sebenar berlaku
 Pendidikan Berasaskan Hasil (Outcome-Based Education – OBE)
