MID 06A - CID 0145 - FMI 06

SMCS - 7610-038-II

Conditions Which Generate This Code:

Illustration 1 g00869078
Schematic of the circuit for the sensor power supply

This diagnostic code will be recorded when the ECM reads the current for the circuit of the sensor supply as
being above normal.

The possible causes of the diagnostic code are listed:

Connector 46 -1 (wire 472-GN) is shorted to ground.

 The sensor has failed.

The ECM has failed. This is unlikely.

System Response:

Possible results that may occur for this condition are listed:

 Associated sensors log diagnostic codes.

"ote: Ensure that the CID 0145 FMI 060 is active.

Test Step 1. CHECK FOR A SHORT TO GROU"D O" THE WIRE HAR"ESS

A. Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.

B. Disconnect the connector CONN46 from the right sensor.

C. Disconnect the connector CONN47 from the left sensor.

D. Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the ON position.

E. Measure the voltage between contact CONN46 - 1 of the wire harness and frame ground.

F. Measure the voltage between contact CONN47 - 1 of the wire harness and frame ground.

Expected Result:

The voltage should be 12 volts on both connectors.

Results:

OK - The voltage is 12 volts on both connectors. The circuit is correct. Proceed to Test Step 2.

"OT OK - No voltage is detected.

Repair: The wire harness is shorted to ground. Repair the wire harness or replace the wire harness.

STOP

Test Step 2. CHECK FOR ACTIVE DIAG"OSTIC CODE

A. Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.

B. Reconnect connector CONN46 to the right sensor.

C. Reconnect connector CONN47 to the left sensor.

D. Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the ON position.

E. Check for an active diagnostic code (CID 0145 FMI 06).

Expected Result:

The CID 0145 FMI 06 is not active.

Results:

OK - The CID 0145 FMI 06 is not active.

Repair: The problem does not exist at this time. Check all connectors on the wire harness and clean
all contacts in the connectors.

STOP

"OT OK - The CID 0145 FMI 06 is active.

Repair: It is unlikely that the controller has failed. Exit this procedure and perform this diagnostic
code procedure again. If the cause of the diagnostic code is not found, replace the Controller. See
Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Replace" for the Tool Control System.

STOP
