Bulky Weight Turban by Jenise Hope
Cast on 6 stitches
Row 1: K6 (6 sts).
Row 2: K1, p4, k1 (6 sts).
Rows 3-14: Repeat rows 1-2.
Row 15: K1, ssk, k2tog, k1 (4 sts).
Don't cast off, hold stitches on a cable needle or stitch holder, but cut the yarn.
Pick up and knit, starting beside the cast on, right side out. Pick up on the sides
between the garter selvage and the stockinette center. Pick up 14 stitches on each
side, and knit the 4 stitches at the top in the middle. You should be ready to work
a right side row now (stockinette side out), and have 32 stitches total. You will be
working back and forth, in a semi-circle.

Each knit out section should be approx 2.5 inches long. Hold them on extra
needles/stitch holders as you move onto the next section.
Now graft the two right-hand section together (yes, this is going to be an
awkward, squishy task, but thankfully the grafting will be hidden in the “knot”) so
that the corners closest to each other meet up, and the far corners meet, and it is
right-sides up. Now, even more awkward, pull one of the left-hand sections
through the loop you just created, and then graft the left hand sections together
the same way, both right-side up.
k2tog
Knit 2 stitches together.
M1LP
From the front, lift the horizontal strand between stitches with the left needle. Purl
through the back loop.
M1RP
From the back, lift the horizontal strand between stitches with the left needle. Purl
through the front loop.
No stitch
This stitch is ignored.
p
Purl.
ssk
Slip 2 stitches knitwise, then knit slipped stitches together.
s1 wyif
With the working yarn in front, insert the right needle into the next stitch as if to
purl and transfer the stitch from the left needle to the right.
s2tog-k1-p2sso
Slip 2 stitches together knitwise, knit 1, then pass slipped stitches over.
