MATH 1- FIRST QUARTER, WEEK 4
LEARNING ACTIVITY SHEET NO.4
Title: Comparing Two Sets of Expressions “ Less than”, More Than” and “As many as”
Learning Target: compares two sets using the expressions “less than,” “more than,” and “as many as”
and orders sets from least to greatest and vice versa.
Values in Focus: Appreciate God’s given talent
Learning Competency with Code
Learning Competency Code
compares two sets using the expressions “less
than,” “more than,” and “as many as” and M1NS-Id- 6
orders sets from least to greatest and vice
versa.
Background Information for Learners
We can compare the number of objects in two different groups. Let us look at the two baskets of eggs
represented as Basket A and B.

A B
Basket A has 8 eggs while Basket B has 4 eggs.
Therefore,
Basket A has more eggs than basket B
Basket B has fewer eggs than basket A.
A group of objects can have
more” or “fewer” items than the other.
We say the word” fewer than” or “ more than” if we compare two groups with different numbers of
objects.
We say “ as many as” if the number of objects in one group is the same as the number of objects in the
other group.
Activity
A. Count and write your answer on the line.

1. Which group has more objects?__________

2. How many more? ______________
3. Which group has fewer objects?______________
4. How many fewer? _____________
Now, count the number of umbrellas and sail boats. Then, write the answer on the line.
5. The number of sailboats is _________ more than the number of umbrellas.
6. The number of umbrellas is _________ less than the number of sailboats.
7. The number of sailboats is ________ the number of umbrellas.
8. The number of umbrellas is ________ the number of sailboats.

B. Do as instructed.
1. Color the star with largest number.

3 5 8 1

2. Color the fish with the smallest number.

77 6 3 8

3. Arrange the following numbers in ascending order. Write your answers on the line.

5 3 2 8

____________ ___________ ___________ _____________

4. Arrange the following numbers in descending order. Write your answers on the line.
