period. It involves characters and plots that could
Realistic be real. They could be about a variety of topics
Fiction that tell of different emotions or life experiences.

Historical fiction is very similar to contemporary

realistic fiction, except it is set in the past. The
Historical setting and events are historical with characters
Fiction that might be fictional or real. This genre now has
diverse voices and is usually told through a young
person’s perspective.
 These are stories told about real people based on
Biography/ facts known about the person. The person might
be famous or not. If a person writes about
Memoir themselves, it is called a memoir or an
autobiography.

This genre is about information on a topic. Some

might think this is only about history or science,
Non-Fiction but it can be about any topic that is giving facts.
The information can be presented in different
ways and explains how the world works.
