Why did you use descriptive method?

According to Shuttleworth (2008), “descriptive method is the most proper method

because it involved observation and describing variables without causing problems to the
respondents.”

Why did you need to conduct this research?

The researchers conducted the study because on the current condition, people tend to
depend more on technological advancement rather than using credible sources such as
libraries.
This study was conducted to assess the perception of STE students towards their use of
books an internet as a source of information, and aims to raise awareness on the
decreasing worth of books.

Is there any possibility that the data that will be gathered is biased?
There is no possibility that the gathered data is biased since the researchers used simple
random sampling wherein there is an equal chance of the variables in the study and there
are no exterior factors that may affect the perception of STE Students.

What will be the expected outcome of the surveys? Then what will be the essence of
the results? Do you think that it can convince the people/ students?
There would be more students who are in favor of using internet. It will raise alarms to
the school library to upgrade their facility and make it more accessible to students,
especially in upgrading the assistance and access in published books.

Why did you include only the STE students? Why not regular students?
The researchers focused on selecting STE Students in their study since they are more
exposed in researching which requires them good information-seeking abilities.

Why did you use simple random sampling as sampling technique for the survey?
Simple random sampling was used because it is the most basic form of probability
according to Bryan (2016) and this avoids biased opinions which is the most appropriate
technique for the study.
Why did you include only 136 respondents? Is it enough for you to have a
favourable result?
The sample population was calculated using the simple random sampling formula
(Bryan, 2016),

which gave us a total of 136 respondents or 17 students per section.

Did the related studies of yours used the same technique? Same method?
Almost all of the related studies used the simple random sampling technique and
descriptive method which is suitable in studies such as evaluation of respondents and
variables.

Why did you include only the students’ perceptions?

Students are highly introduced to modern technologies and are used in using the internet
in gathering information.

How can you justify that your study is original?

This study is a localized one wherein it focused only on 136 STE Students of Malabon
National High School, and results of studies such as evaluation of perception on using
internet and books depends on the time collected, respondents, and the place where it
was conducted.

What is the difference between your study with other related studies?
Some of our related studies focused more on the use of internet while som focused on the
use of books. In our study, the use of books and internet was compared dependent to the
STE Students’ perception.
What are the possible impacts of it in our society?
This may raise awareness to the people especially students to maintain balance use of
internet and books as a source of information.

How did you arrive with the mathematical formulas?

Mathematical formulas were based on reliable sources such as related studies,
specifically, the simple random sampling formula was based on a book published by
Bryan (2016). The percentage distribution and weighted mean will be computed
according credible studies.

Why did you use surveys as your mode of gathering information/data?

The researchers used written surveys in gathering information because it is more efficient
and convenient, and the collected data will not be biased since there are no exterior
factors that may affect instead it only depends on the opinion of students.

What is the edge of your study over other studies that are already proven?
Students’ perception will be collected, compared, and analyzed through the descriptive
method. Quantitative data will be used, which provides reliable results rather than the
qualitative result to formulate a good result and a concrete conclusion.

Where did you based all the questions written in the survey?
The questions in the survey were based on parallel studies and thorough thinking of
researchers about situations related to the use of internet and books, the time they spend
in researching, and their reasons in using the two.

If your study was given a chance to undergo revisions, what will you change? Why?
The researchers would like to gather results from regular students from the school or
other schools, as well as the perception of the teachers to make the study’s scope larger.
