The rubric outlines 5 categories for evaluating papers: introduction, quality of information/evidence, support of analysis, organization/development of paper, and conclusion. For each category, it describes the characteristics of papers that would score a 4 (exceptional), 3 (proficient), 2 (basic), or 1 (weak). Papers that receive the highest scores have exceptionally well-researched, detailed information that clearly relates to the thesis, make consistent and critical connections between evidence and thesis, and have clear and logical organization that thoroughly develops the thesis.
