To run the NORMAL (Not DEMO) Aligner program it is also necessary to copy manually the
system configuration and the Smart Card certificate:
- Copy manually the “config” file Config_S9RAV001000011.enc from the folder \AS9 to
C:\TMLAB\ALIGNERS9\System\
- Copy also the “security” files
Token_S9RAV001000011_975e932f39184095922af79ec1c1ed6b.enc and X509_S9RAV001000011.cer
from the folder \AS9 to C:\TMLAB\ALIGNERS9\Security\
Note: the above filenames are for examples, S9RAV001000011 is the serial number of the smart card
where the file is linked. This files are unique and is not possible to copy in another PC for unlock the SW or
the Data Bank.

Attention: Before run the Aligner Program it is necessary to reboot again the PC.
Then will be necessary in the Aligner program, to set the configuration options and set
the Bluetooth or Serial connections. See for details next chapters.
DEMO MODE: In a standard installation, in order to pass from NORMAL mode to DEMO
mode (and vice versa), press contemporaneously the keys Ctrl+D.
In a Demo installation it is possible to choose any model between all the range, initially
appears the above indicated page, select the model and press F4 to continue

1.2 Update
The update software of the RAV Wheel Aligners AS9 series, consists of some files
including a SETUP.EXE file.
To update the AS9 SW simply made a double click on SETUP.exe
If also DATA BANK updating is required, follow the procedure described in the User
manual, copying first the Database file from the USB flash disk to the PC and then
unlock it using the “Token import” procedure.

2 CONNECTIONS
NOTE: Model TD5080WS it isn’t equipped of charging support but has 4 charging cables
as the rear ones of the model “WD” series, see Figure 12.
“WS” SERIES
Figure 11
The console of the wheel aligner series WD communicates with the front measuring
heads directly through the cables provided; these must be connected to Serial Ports (or
standard RS232 serial to USB adaptors) and linked as later described. Front measuring
heads do not feature batteries and consequently these cables also provide power. The
charging of rear heads are done while the heads hare connected to the charging cables.
See Figure 12.
Attention: the + and – poles must be right, check this when put the heads on charging.
If the +/- poles are right the battery charge (green led on), if reversed it doesn’t charge.
Attention: never charge the battery with AC current (old model had AC current), with AC it seem the
battery is correctly charging (green led on), but after some hours it could be damaged.
“WD” SERIES

If the PC isn’t provided from factory (customer supplying) the front heads must be
combined with the PC as below indicated.
The console of wheel aligner series TD5080WS, TD1760/80WS, TD1850WS, TD2200WS,
communicates with the measuring heads through a Bluetooth device fitted into a USB
port of the PC, and the correspondent Bluetooth modules fitted inside the front heads.
The Bluetooth transmission allow to “combine” in a univocal way only a single couple of
front heads, leaving protected by the external interferences, and also leaving the
possibility to use many Bluetooth aligners in the same place.
The procedure of “Combining” described in the following pages, is already done in the
factory. It is necessary only if the customer provide himself to acquire the PC, or is
necessary in case of heads replacing as spare part.

NOTE: Once the two COM ports are assigned, always use the LEFT cable to LEFT head and RIGHT
cable to RIGHT head, reversing such cables, the communication will not possible.
Important: To check the true connections with the measuring heads use the communication test
(release FW) described in par. 4.1
NOTE 2: If the PC isn’t provided of serial ports, it is possible to use standard RS232 to USB adaptors.

Removing the encoder: If the turntable with encoder has to be opened, for instance to replace
the plate balls, the encoder device will have to be removed:
Perform the following operations:
- Loosen cable gland “A”
- Remove the 3 screws “B” that secure the cover
- Remove the 2 screws “C” that secure the board with the angular reader
- Remove disc “D” , handling this carefully and trying not to touch its surface; use a 0.9 mm or
0.035 inch socket-head wrench.
- The plate can be opened by removing pin “F”, using a 19 mm wrench

3 CALIBRATIONS
3.1 Measuring head calibration
The measuring heads of the RAV wheel aligner are already factory set; moreover, the
calibration settings are stored in the CPU memory of the measuring head itself. At the time of
installation or changing a measuring head, the appliance does not therefore require data
calibration or configuration. Calibration is only required if the transducers are changed or
following ascertained repeated errors due to transducer movement (as a result of falls,
knocks, etc.). Use the following calibration systems depending on the models provided:

ATTENTION: The sensors of the WIRED models (WD) have to be connected only if
front (the transmission of rear ones pass through the front ones).
The sensors of the WIRELESS models (WS) have NOT never be connected.
4 TEST PROCEDURES
By means of the TEST procedure program it is possible to verify the correct working of all the
devices present in the wheel aligner system.
It is necessary select the TEST procedure menu as follows:
In the initial logo page press simultaneously the key CTRL - F2, will appear the display page
of Figure 35.
