MSC Sinfonia was built in 2002 and joined the MSC Cruises’ fleet in
2005 following an extensive refurbishment.

 MSC SINFONIA - PORTS OF CALL

A cruise aboard the MSC Sinfonia provides opportunities to

visit beautiful Mozambique. With the exception of Maputo, the
Mozambique destinations do not have harbour facilities, therefore the
ship anchors offshore and passengers are ferried to land by zodiacs.

REPOSITIONING CRUISES
Southbound cruise - on the 23rd October 2010, the MSC Sinfonia
sails from the port of Genoa, this 17 night cruise affords guests the
opportunity of visiting the exciting ports of call such as Nice,Valencia,
Casablanca, Agadir, Dakar and Walvis Bay, arriving in Cape Town on
the 9th November 2010.
Northbound cruise - on the 3rd May 2011, the MSC Sinfonia begins
her 18 night return journey home.The homeward bound voyage again
traverses the West Coast of Africa calling at the ports of Walvis Bay,
St. Helena, Dakar, Tenerife, Funchal, Malaga and Rome, arriving in
Genoa on the 21st May 2011.

pristine beaches with the crystal waters of the Indian Ocean on one
side and the Inhambane estuary on the other. Barra Lodge offers deep
sea fishing, diving, snorkeling, quad riding and catamaran cruising.
Maputo - the sprawling capital of Mozambique with an impressive
skyline and a cosmopolitan Portuguese/African atmosphere, Maputo
offers visitors shopping, markets, museums and restaurants serving the
best prawns and peri peri chicken.

MOZAMBIQUE ISLAND
Portuguese Island - an uninhabited island of only 2,5 square kilometers
is a protected reserve and home to countless birds, crabs and wide
unspoiled beaches. Hidden lagoons and mangrove trees add to the magic
of this beautiful destination. Our chef will prepare a beach barbeque for
your delight, and you can quench your thirst at the MSC Sinfonia’s very
own Island Bar.Try the snorkeling, beach volleyball, fishing and a fun ride
in a Zodiac! Or simply lie back on the beach and relax! Alternatively join
our conservation lecturer for a fascinating, educational walk around this
unique tropical island.
Landings are totally dependeant on sea and weather conditions.The captain is the sole judge of whether it is
safe to go ashore, and the decision in this regard will be made by him.

Fort Dauphin - Fort Dauphin boasts its beaches, unusual foliage and
its Lemurs, chameleons and birdlife unlike anything seen anywhere
else in the world. Take a nature walk, visit the Botanical Gardens, the
Fort and Museum or book the optional beach BBQ and lounge in the
warm crystal waters with a cold drink from the bar, whilst the island’s

EMBARKATION
On embarkation, passengers should
follow these steps:
a) D
 eliver luggage to the designated staff, who will
then send directly to the passenger’s cabin. All bags
should be labelled beforehand with the passenger’s
name and surname, the name of the ship, the cabin
number and the date and port of departure.
b) G o to the check-in desk with cruise ticket and
passport.
c) A
 fter the document check, passengers will receive
a Cruise Card. This is a magnetic card used for
onboard payment of excursions, bar bills, laundry,
in-cabin service, hairdresser, beauty centre, duty-free
shops, photographer and service charge. To activate
purchasing with the Cruise Card, passengers must
either register their credit card or leave a cash sum.
Personal cheques are not accepted. The following
credit cards can be registered onboard: Visa, Visa
Electron, Mastercard, Diners, JCB and American
Express.
d) A s a safety precaution, security staff may search
a passenger and/or his/her luggage and confiscate
any articles that the Company considers could
risk the safety of the passengers, crew or ship.
On board, staff reserve the right to remove any
beverages present in passenger baggage. These will
be returned the evening before disembarkation.
Passengers are not permitted to bring unpackaged
food on board.
TRAVEL DOCUMENTS AND
VISAS
For all other questions regarding travel
documents and visas, please ask your travel agent.
LUGGAGE
Insurance must be taken out with MSC
Cruises according to the conditions on
pages 32-33. International airline baggage regulations
subject luggage to size and weight limitations; the
normal economy class allowance is 20kg. Airlines
reserve the right to charge a supplement for excess
baggage. MSC Cruises accepts no responsibility for
issues arising during airport departure or arrival.
Fur thermore, valuable luggage travels at the
passenger’s own risk. Passengers are advised to carry
any medicines, documents etc. in their hand luggage.
HEALTH AND MEDICAL
REQUIREMENTS
Passengers with physical or mental
disabilities are referred to Clause “Health of
Passenger” of the Booking Conditions.
The Passenger warrants that he is fit to travel by
sea and by air and that his conduct or condition
will not impair the safety or convenience of the
vessels, aircraft and/or the other passengers. Any
Passenger with a condition that may affect fitness
to travel must submit a doctor’s certificate prior to
booking. Without this certificate, boarding may be
prohibited. Any specific transport and/or lodging
and/or assistance needs must be communicated at
the time the reservation is made, and are subject to
availability. Ships are not equipped with specialized
rooms/equipment/medical assistance.
Women who will reach the 23 th week of pregnancy
by the end of the cruise must, at the time of
embarkation, produce a medical certificate from a
doctor confirming their fitness to travel on board
a cruise ship for the period of the cruise and for
the actual itinerary. MSC Cruises is not in any way
responsible for any consequence resulting from a
passenger’s inability to travel, whether or not this
inability is evident. No refund or indemnity is owed
to any passenger who cannot begin or continue the
trip due to their own inability.

MEDICAL SERVICE
All of our ships have a well-equipped
Medical Center, supervised by a doctor
and medical personnel. The Medical Center is open
at the times advertised in the ship’s Daily Program.
Emergency services are available around the clock by
calling the Medical Emergency number. While the range
of medications held on board is comprehensive, they
may not satisfy your precise personal needs, and for this
reason, we always suggest that Guests carry a supply of
their own prescribed medicines.
Charges will be made on board for medical services.
These charges are displayed in the Medical Center and
will be debited automatically to your Cruise Card.
PETS
Pets are not allowed on board.
PARKING
Car Parking is available only in Durban upon
request. The fare of 75 Rand per night (valid
for all car types) will be converted in USD at the actual
exchange rate and collected directly on board.

RESTAURANTS AND
BUFFETS DINING
Dining times are indicated in the Daily
Program.
Breakfast is served in the ship’s restaurant and at the
Lido Buffet. Continental breakfast from Room Service
is delivered to cabins on request on all mornings
except the day of disembarkation. This service may be
requested using the doorknob order form provided in
the in-cabin directory or by calling the Reception desk.
Lunch is served in the restaurants and at the Lido Buffet.
Dinner is served in the restaurants in two sittings
(preference to be indicated at booking time).
All food, drink and related services not included in the
cruise price shall be paid at the end of the cruise.
A 15% service charge is already included and detailed in
the final bill. No tips are therefore required for bar and
restaurant staff.
SMOKING POLICY
MSC Cruises respects the needs and
desires of all guests, and we have given
careful consideration to the preferences of both those
who smoke and those who do not.
In line with global standards, smoking areas are generally
fewer than non-smoking areas, but smoking is freely
permitted in specified areas throughout the fleet
(selected mainly on the basis of increased or modified
air extraction).
Smoking is not generally permitted in any food service
areas (buffets and restaurants), medical centres, child-
care areas, corridors or elevator foyers, areas where
guests are assembled in groups for safety exercises,
disembarkation or tour departures, public toilets, or in
bars directly near areas where food is served. Smoking
in all cabins is highly discouraged, and because of
the specific and proven risk of fire, smoking on cabin
balconies is not permitted at any time.
Smoking is permitted in several bars on each ship, and
on one side (indicated by signage) of the principal
outdoor pool deck areas, where ashtrays are provided.
Guests are advised by the Cruise Director and in the
Ship’s Daily Program to avoid throwing cigarette butts
over the side of the ship, where they could be blown
back on board and start a fire.
SHOPS AND SERVICES
ON BOARD
A vast selection of the best brands is
available from the Duty & Tax free shops on board:
clothing, beauty and perfume items, jewellery, film and
photographic equipment, glasses, suntan lotion, tobacco
and spirits, as well as a variety of products with the
MSC logo.
All ships have hair and beauty salons, a sauna and
massage suite, gym, laundry and photographic service.
Prices are published on board.
SUNBEDS
Sunbeds are available at no charge to
passengers.
They cannot be booked, and guests are kindly requested
not to occupy deckchairs and sunbeds with personal
items during any long absences. Beach towels are
available around the swimming pools. These should be
returned after use. Unreturned pool towels may be
charged to the onboard accounts of guests.
DAILY PROGRAM
Each evening a detailed program for the
following day will be delivered to your
cabin. It contains full information on the activities and
entertainment to be presented by the entertainment
staff.
ENTERTAINMENT FOR KIDS
We give special care and attention to
children.
Dedicated entertainment and activities are arranged for
children from 3 years of age. Children’s programs are
printed daily and are available in the Children’s Center.
Children’s entertainment is free and is organized into
three distinct age categories.
• Mini Club, for children from 3 to 6 years;
• Junior Club, for children from 7 to 12 years;
• Teenagers Club, for passengers from 13 to 17 years.
As our ships vary in size and facilities, Children’s’
activities are not restricted to the Children’s Center.
All entertainment activities, both for younger guests
and adults, are conducted in different languages to cater
for all needs. When parents are on excursions ashore,
the Mini Club will remain open, offering peace of mind
for parents. If parents are ashore or involved in other
activities, the Children’s supervisors will also take the
youngsters to the buffet or the ship’s restaurant for
children’s meals (from a dedicated Children’s Menu).
Parents are kindly asked to prevent their children from
roaming the ship unaccompanied. We do not offer a
baby-sitting service.
SHORE EXCURSIONS
A full program of Shore Excursions is
available to purchase on board.
The excursions offered during the cruise are optional
and a charge is applicable. Excursions are charged
directly to your onboard account and final payment can
be made in cash, by credit card or by traveller’s cheque.
Please note that:
- E xcursion itineraries and prices may be subject to
change due to cost variations and contingencies
without prior notification by MSC Cruises.
- An excursion takes place if the minimum number of
participants is reached. In the event that the minimum
number of participants is not reached, the excursion
may be cancelled and money refunded. Some
excursions have a limited number of participants.
- The price includes transport, visits to sites and/
or museums, meals and drinks as detailed in the
description of each excursion.

the program resulting from local holidays, days that
sites are closed and/or any other local events that
completely or partially preclude the original itinerary.
The excursion programme and timings (departure/
return) will be confirmed on board during the cruise.

 nless otherwise indicated, onshore excursions will be
conducted by coach.

 assengers are requested to wear appropriate
clothing for visits to religious sites (covered knees and
shoulders, no low-cut tops).
- E xcursions including visits to archaeological sites, long
sections on foot or hiking may not be suitable for
passengers with disabilities or walking difficulties. It is
advisable to check the feasibility of excursions before
booking.
- F or Beach Tours, swimming towels and bathing suits
are advised.
- S ome archaeological sites, museums and places of
interest charge supplements for the use of videos and
cameras. These extras are not included in the price of
the excursion; further details will be given on board.
AIRPORT SHUTTLE
A reasonably priced shuttle service is
available from Durban Airport direct to
Durban Port and vice versa. The shuttle meets all flights
on the Sinfonia’s cruise departure dates. This transfer
can be booked at the time you make your cruise
reservation.
HOTELS
Should you wish to extend your holidays
either before or after your cruise, preferential
rates are offered in Southern Sun properties. Simply
request your accommodation when making your cruise
reservation.
LUXURY BUS FROM
JOHANNESBURG
Drakensberg Express: Travel via the
Drakensberg; spend 1 night at Sandford Park Country
Hotel before continuing on to Durban the following
morning. The return coach departs directly upon
disembarkation for the transfer back to Gauteng/
Tswane (short stop at Harrismith) OR Durban Express:
Travel directly to Durban; spend 1 night at Garden
Court South beach (inclusive of Breakfast) before being
transferred to the port to board the Sinfonia. Return
coach departs directly upon disembarkation for the
transfer back to Gauteng / Tshwane (short stop at
Harrismith).
SERVICE CHARGE
All onboard services offered to MSC
Guests are subject to a modest service
Charge which will be billed to the Guest’s account.
Payment will only be requested at the end of the cruise
and will depend on the number of days services were
actually provided. Service charges serve the purpose of
maintaining the highest quality standards of service to
the passengers.
The amount of the service charge is fixed and cannot
be altered: South Africa cruises: 6 Dollars/day per adult.
Positioning cruises: heading to South Africa 6 Euro/day per
adult, coming from South Africa 6 Dollars/day per Adult.
The applicable service charge for children under 18 will be
50% of the above rates.
OTHER SERVICES
The following services are charged as
extras: photographer, casino, video games,
golf simulator (only on MSC Sinfonia), internet stations,
hairdresser, barber, beauty salon, Turkish bath, sauna and
massages, laundry and ironing.
Post office: mail can be taken to the on board
Information Office who will provide the necessary
postage (which will be charged to the passenger) and
pass it to our local representatives for mailing.

Just connect to the ship’s network, available via a
wireless connection in all common areas of the ship,
or in your cabin, using the cable available from the
Information Desk, and follow the instructions provided
on the home page to register. To access the hot spot
service, just select the amount of credit you require and
it will be charged directly to your on-board account.
It is also possible to rent a laptop from the Information
Desk (only on MSC Splendida and MSC Fantasia).
Details and offers available will be posted on the Daily
Program.

VOLTAGE
Electricity on board all ships is supplied
at a voltage of 110/220 V. Passengers may
request electrical outlet adapters from the Information
Office.
VALUABLES
Safe deposit boxes are provided in all
cabins (except on MSC Melody, where for
some cabins a safe deposit service is provided at the
reception desk).
The Company assumes no responsibility for loss or theft
of money or valuables stored in the cabin, in luggage or
left unattended.

For cruises in the Mediterranean and
Northern Europe, as well as transatlantic
cruises departing from Europe, the onboard currency
is the Euro (€).
For cruises in the Caribbean, North America, South
America and South Africa, as well as transatlantic
cruises going to Europe, the onboard currency is the
US Dollar ($).
MSC CRUISES AND UNICEF
From July 13th, 2009, MSC Cruises has
been supporting an innovative UNICEF
programme to combat poverty and inequality by
helping ensure disadvantaged children in Rio de Janeiro
and São Paolo gain quality education.
Guests are also invited to “get on board for children”
and make a difference by offering a modest donation of
as little as €1.00 (or $1.50), which will be added to the
bill at the end of the cruise. This small offering, valid on
all ships in the MSC Cruises fleet, is of course optional.
Passengers may freely decide whether to increase,
decrease or cancel it, communicating their decision to
the Accounting Office before 22.00 of the last day of
the cruise. This Office is at guests’ disposal for further
information.
For your convenience, should you give no indication to
change the amount, the sum of €1.00 (or $1.50) will be
automatically debited to your final account. For more
information, please read the informational brochure left
in every cabin or visit www.msc-unicef.org.

 BOOKING CONDITIONS
A. In these terms and conditions (”the booking conditions”)
the following words shall have the meanings given to them
hereunder: The “Company” shall mean the owner of the
Cruising Vessel. “Starlight” shall mean Starlight Shipping
(Pty) Ltd, the General Sales Agents in South Africa for
the Company. Starlight has been appointed solely as the
General Sales Agents in South Africa for the Company and
not as agents for the company in any other capacity. The
Company and not Starlight shall be the carrier in terms of
the contract of carriage.
B. The carriage of the passenger and his luggage shall be
governed by the terms and conditions on the face and
reverse of the Company’s passenger ticket to be issued
prior to embarkation. A copy of the Company’s standard
passenger ticket conditions is available for inspection on
request.The passenger shall be bound by those terms and
conditions and agrees that his acceptance of the ticket
shall be deemed to be an acceptance of the terms and
conditions contained herein. It is recorded that the terms
and conditions of the passenger ticket incorporate the
Athens Convention relating to the Carriage of Passengers
and their Luggage by Sea, 1974 (”The Athens Convention”).
In terms of the Athens Convention the carrier’s liability
for the loss of or damage to luggage and for any damages
suffered as a result of the death or personal injury to
a passenger, are limited as provided for therein, In any
event, the company shall not be liable for any loss, injury
or damage of whatsoever nature or inability to perform
the contract of carriage or any part thereof arising out of
or resulting from vis major or force majeure.
C. The contract of carriage shall be governed by the
law of the country where the Company has it’s principal
place of business.
D. The passenger agrees that any dispute, action or
proceeding arising out of or in connection with the
contract of carriage shall be brought before the courts
of the country where the company has it’s principal place
of business.
E. BOOKING CONDITIONS
Before you Book
Please read the section carefully - it contains information
you should be aware of before you book your holiday.
To Make a Booking
Having established that space is available and on requesting
your booking, a non-refundable deposit of R1500.00 plus
the mandatory insurance per person must be received
within 72 hours, failing which Starlight shall, in its absolute
discretion, be entitled to cancel the booking. Confirmation
of the booking by the passenger, or his agent, followed by
a deposit will be considered as a consent to all provisions
mentioned herein.
Balance of Fares
The balance of your tour fare including any currency or
fuel surcharges levied by that time, after deducting the
amount of your deposit, is due and payable not later
than 60 (SIXTY) days prior to the departure of your
holiday. The Company and/or Starlight reserve the right
to cancel the reservation if the full fare inclusive of all
surcharges has not been received before 8 weeks prior
to departure. The company and/or Starlight reserves the
right to retain all of the deposit to offset damages or
loss of profit which results from late payments. If your
reservation is made later than 60 days prior to departure,
the full fare (inclusive of all surcharges ) is due within 48
hours of making your reservation. The Company and/or
Starlight shall at its or their absolute discretion, be entitled
to cancel the reservation without further reference if the
fare is not received. In addition to any increase in the fare
levied prior to payment of the balance of the applicable
fare at that time, the Company may within its sole
discretion declare and levy an extraordinary surcharge in
the event of an unforeseen increase in the ruling price of
fuel occurring during the currency of a cruise, in which
event the Company may debit the passenger’s on-board
account with such extraordinary surcharge(s).
Validity
The contract of passage is valid only for the person (or
persons) whose name appears on the ticket and for the
sailing day indicated. The contract and ticket is/are not
transferable.
Passage Fare
The passage fare as may have been advertised or quoted
is simply the fare in force at the date of issuing the
brochure. The Company reserves the right to increase

the fare before the sailing of the vessel and the passenger
in such case must pay the difference before embarking or
shall have the right to cancel the contract forfeiting the
non-refundable deposit paid to secure such booking. The
advertised or quoted ticket fare appearing in any brochure
or other publicity material, or included in the package price
can be increased by the company within its sole discretion
due to any circumstance beyond its reasonable control,
including but not limited to the occurance of currency
fluctuations, the increase in the ruling price of fuel at the
place it may be or is likely to be stremmed, increases in
air tickets, any kind of taxes, or any other kind of increase
connected with the holiday, package or cruise.
Service charges
All onboard services offered to MSC guests are subject
to a modest service charge which will be billed to the
guests account. Payment will only be requested at the
end of the cruise and will depend on the number of days
services where actually provided. Service charges serve
the purpose of maintaining the highest quality standards
of service to the passengers. The amount of the service
charge is fixed and cannot be altered. South Africa cruises
- $6 per adult per day. Positioning Cruises heading to
South Africa €6 per adult per day. Coming from South
Africa $6 per adult per day. The applicable service charge
for children under 18 will be 50% of the above rate. No
tips are requested on board
Cancellation by the Company
If the Company cancels any cruise or voyage at any
time, in whole or in part, its liability shall be limited in
its absolute discretion to refunding that part of the fare
attributable to the part of the cruise or voyage that has
not been performed, or to transferring the passenger
to another ship of similar, but not necessarily identical,
class and type performing substantially the same cruise
or voyage and provide thereon substantially similar
accommodation and facilities as on the original ship.

Cancellation by the Passenger
The Passenger shall be entitled to cancel the booking
by giving notice in writing to the General Sales Agents
in which event he shall be subject to the cancellation
charges as follows: Between 45-60 days 25% of the cruise
fare. Between 30-45 days 50% of the cruise fare. Less than
30 days 100% of cruise fare. Deposits are in all instances
non-refundable.
Passenger’s Responsibility
The Passenger shall be directly responsible to the Company
for any penalties, inconveniences, fines and expenses which
by his fault the Company incur or may be assessed by
port authorities, customs, health offices or by any other
officials or authorities whatsoever. The passenger shall be
bound by any order issued by the Master of the vessel
and shall submit if requested by servants or agents of the
Company to a search of the passenger’s person or any
luggage and goods.
Health of Passenger
Where a passenger in the sole opinion of the Company
and/or its Port Agents and/or the Master of the ship is
considered to be, or has become, unfit to travel for any
reason whatsoever or is likely to endanger his health or
safety or endanger the health or safety of or impair the
comfort of others on board or seems likely to be refused
permission to land at any Port, then that passenger may
not be permitted to embark or may be disembarked at
any Port, may be transferred from one berth to another
or may have any drug, medicine or other substance
administered through the ship’s doctor and/or his staff
without liability to the Company for any consequential
damage, loss, expense, loss of time or inconvenience and
the Company shall not be required to repay any portion
of a fare to any such passenger. Without limiting the
foregoing, any passenger who assist or fails to report a
stowaway shall be deemed to be unfit to travel.
Other Carriers
In making any arrangement for the care or transportation
of any passenger other than by the ship named in this
contract or for any shore excursion and transportation to
or from shore and on land, the Company and/or Starlight
is acting solely in the capacity of agent for the persons
or parties providing same, but does so on the express
condition that no liability of any kind howsoever caused,
including the negligence of any party inclusive of the
servants or agents of the Company and/or Starlight shall
attach to the Company and/or Starlight in connection
with or arising out of such arrangements or in the
execution of the care or transportation contracted for.
The passenger agrees that any independent or third party
contractors with whom the Company and/or Starlight
so contracts provide their services subject to their usual
standard terms and conditions.
Insurance
Insurance Neither the Company nor Starlight are responsible
for any loss or damage to property or luggage howsoever
arising, including in consequence of the negligence of their
servants and contractors. The Passenger is obliged to hold
personal travel insurance to the satisfaction of the Company
and/or Starlight at the time of departure covering the
entire period of the cruise. No Passenger may board the
vessel without such insurance cover being in place and the
existence of such cover is a condition precedent to the
acceptance of any booking and is an absolute warranty
by the Passenger in favour of Starlight and the Company.
The Passenger shall produce a copy of the insurance policy
prior to boarding the vessel and failure to do so will render
the booking subject to immediate cancellation without
compensation. The minimum terms of cover required are
as specified on the Booking Reservation Form (”Mandatory
Insurance Cover”).
Reservation Agents
The passenger agrees that the reservation agent is his
agent and not the agent of the Company or Starlight.
Accordingly, all money handled by reservation agents is
handled on behalf of the passenger and not on Starlight’s
or the Company’s behalf. The risk of loss of and/or theft
of the money shall be borne by the passenger until the
money has been received by Starlight. In the event of the
reservation agent signing the Booking Reservation form
on behalf of the passenger, the passenger confirms and
warrants the authority of the agent to do so and agrees
to be bound by all the terms and conditions thereof. In
addition the reservation agent in so signing the Booking
Reservation Form warrants his/her authority to do so on
behalf of the passenger and that the terms and conditions
were drawn to the attention of the passenger.
Embarkation
Starlight will send details of embarkation and flight
arrangements together with other helpful information
about 2 weeks prior to departure.
Passage Ticket
Passage Tickets will only be issued after due receipt by
Starlight of the full fare.
F. It must be noted that the terms of the booking and as
otherwise set out herein, will be superseded by the terms
of the passenger ticket issued to the passenger as at the
date of embarkation, unless as is inconsistent with that
specific condition.
G. Landings
The company is entitled to substitute any advertised port
of call if the master deems it necessary to do so. Landings
at the advertised ports of call are weather dependent.
The Master of the vessel shall make the decision whether
it is deemed safe to take passengers ashore.
H. INDEMNITY
In my capacity as a passenger on the vessel, I acknowledge
that there is a risk involved in embarking and disembarking
the vessel and accordingly confirm that I do so at my sole
risk of any injury, death or other consequence, howsoever
arising, including the negligence of any party, inclusive of
the Company, Starlight Cruises or any of their servants
or agents. I hereby indemnify the Company and Starlight
Cruises and hold you harmless against all losses, damage
or harm howsoever arising (including the negligence of
any third party, of the Company, or Starlight Cruises or
any of their servants or agents) whether to my person or

America, but it also suffers from disparities and poverty.

Many live in overcrowded, poorly serviced urban centres (favelas),

where drug trafficking and violence are faced by adolescents.

Education is key to transforming this.

• 55 million Brazilians live in poverty.
25 million of them are children.
• Poorest children are 18 times more likely to be illiterate than richest
children. Poorest adolescents are 12 times more likely to be illiterate
than richest adolescents.
• Children living in rural communities are three times more likely to be
working than children in urban areas.

MSC FOR UNICEF, THE PROJECT

As the market leader in Brazil, MSC Cruises has launched a major
partnership with UNICEF to combat these problems by empowering
children and adolescents”.
The project is part of UNICEF’s Education for all programme and will
benefit disadvantaged children and adolescents in the urban centres
of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro by supporting national efforts to
ensure they receive a quality education.
