GENERAL OBJECTIVE: By the end of the lesson, student will be able to use That Noun Clause in
writing and conversation.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

1. Students are able to recognize That Noun Clause in a sentence
2. Students are able to understand and recognize different structures of That
Noun Clause
3. Students are able to create sentences by using the word ‘That’ in noun
clauses
ACTIVITIES: I. PRE-LESSON
Warm up activity
Teacher asks the student simple questions relat to that clause.
Rationale: To help students understand what they are going to learn
in an indirect way. Besides, it can focus the students’ attention and
bring out any existing knowledge the students already have about the
topic. 

II. LESSON
1. Teacher introduces clause to the students; What is a clause? How to
recognize a clause? Types of clauses.
2. Teacher explains about That Clause.
3. Teacher will focus on specific type of That Clause which is That
Noun Clause.
4. Teacher will explain about That Noun Clause and its functions in
writing and daily conversation so that they can practice it in their
writing or communication.
Rationale: To help students recognize and distinguish noun clause
from other clauses before introducing them to That Noun Clause.

III. POST-LESSON:
Assessments
Exercise 1: Sentence Puzzle
1. Teacher will provide different a set of word cards and arrange it
randomly on the board.
2. Students will have to rearrange the words in a correct manner.
3. Teacher will give time for students at home to try on their own.
4. Teacher will check the answers and identify the structure of That
Noun clause together with the students.
5. Teacher ends the lesson by summarizing the topic to help students
recall back all the information/knowledge that they have gained
during the lesson
Rationale: To help students engage more in the lesson by providing a
fun activity that can bring enjoyment and increase students’
participation in class. Students can try the activity at home while
watching the recorded lesson and check their answers together with
the teacher.
Exercise 2: Create sentences by combining pictures and That
clauses.
1. Students need to identify where to put That in Noun Clause.
2. Student need to complete the sentence using the given clauses.
3. Teacher will monitor the student participation and progress in
online class, by looking at their answers in the exercises given.

Rationale: To test and monitor students’ understanding of the topic. It is


more like a formative assessment to check whether the students gain
inputs/knowledge from the lesson.
