LEARNING OUTCOME:
At the end of this lesson, child will know:
• Your Gender

RECAPITULATION:
• Encourage leaner to share their name and age.

Describing Gender:
Step1: Ask the learner to sit in a circle, along with
other family members. Every family member
should tell if they are a girl or a boy.

Step 2: All the boys should sit on one side and all
the girls should sit on another side.

Step 3: Explain learners that they are going to


learn about themselves, like if they are a girl or a
boy.

Step 4: Tell the learner that how a boy and girl is


different from each other in different ways.
We can explain that normally by saying ‘girls have long hair’ where as ‘boys have short
hair’. Boys wear jeans and shirt or t-shirt whereas girls can also wear skirt, frock, salwar
kurta and sarees.

Step 5: Show the learner a picture of one girl and one boy (select a character of “Jack and
Jill” from the rhymes), and talk about them. Discuss who they are. Like tell their name and
also that they are a boy or a girl. Explain the learner to answer when they are asked to say
if they are boy or a girl.

Step 6: PULSE CHECK

Take some names of learners’ friends and ask the gender of that friend.
