4.4.1 Working principles, mechanisms, and operations.

The mechanisms of a particular product will show how the product operates to achieve its
goals and objectives. In this case, the UVC gun applies two main mechanisms.

The first mechanism involves the primary function of the UVC gun, which is the emittance of
the Far UVC light. The UVC light's emittance uses an electrical circuit and a set of codes
programmed as a safety feature to ensure the UVC light turns off after a certain amount of
time. When the trigger is pushed, the switch for the electrical circuit will be turned on. The
live circuit will supply electricity from the battery to the buzzer (as a sound notification) and
the UVC bulb, allowing the far UVC light to be emitted. The set of codes' functions is to
prevent excessive radiation caused by potential carelessness of user as they hold the trigger
down for too long or forget to release the trigger. The set of code has two options. The first
option is to activate the UVC light emittance, which is done by pushing the trigger. The
circuit will be connected for 30 seconds before automatically turning off. Manually, the user
can terminate the sequence by releasing the trigger during the timer is running. The set of
codes will be attached in the appendix section of this report.

First and foremost, the display shows initialisation. Start-up menu will be displayed on the
screen. When the user presses the key, the emitter is set on low-power mode and display that
it is ready to receive input.

Consequently, the user will be directed to the device function menu consists of UVC light
production and compact device. If the input is 1, UVC light is produced with the timer starts
simultaneously. The emitter is on, the circuit is now complete and is off. Thus, the UV light
is emitted out when the trigger is used. Subsequently, if the timer is exceeded, the process
will be stopped.

The user then can choose whether to repeat the process or not. If it is true, the process will be
repeated, whereas the process will stop if it is false. The program ends.
Below is a flow chart on how the codes are set up.

The second working mechanism is for the sanitizer pump. The function of this mechanism is
to manually dispense sanitizer from the sanitizer bottle through the sanitizer pump to aid the
user and everyone around the user to sanitize their hands when working around surfaces
commonly known to the public. The mechanism of the manual pump system is as follows

1) PRESSURE SYSTEM (PUMP) for the sanitizer dispenser

a) When the cap is pushed down

1) The ball connecting the top and bottom part of the

system is lodged.

2) No air or fluid can move from reservoir to top part

of system and vice versa.

3) The piston moves down and the valve is opened

4) Fluid or air in the top part of the system is forced

out through the cap
b) When the cap is released

1) The ball is dislodged and can move up together

with the spring

2) The piston moves up and closes the valve

3) A vacuum is created as no air can enter or escape

the top part of the system

4) The vacuum causes a pulling force which pulls the

fluid from the reservoir to the cap.
