Throughout my academic career, I have been inclined towards research and problem solving,

and my teachers have always encouraged me in this regard. I prefer research problems to be an
ideal blend of theory and practice. I am eager to acquire first-rate education in a research-
oriented academic setup, and hone my research skills with up-to-date methods and techniques in
my chosen field of study.

I consider Mechanical Engineering (Aerodynamics in particular) an area with a lot of potential. It

is my belief that expertise in the above mentioned fields is necessary if Pakistan is to step up its
pace of development. My interest in the subjects is also fueled by the fact that the particular
domain presents challenging real life problems. There are very few specialists of this field in
Pakistan, and I hope to play my small part in filling this capacity gap.

The formal research that I undertook in my B.S Aerospace engineering degree has made me
significantly familiarized with the practice and methods of research in general and rendered me
up to date with existing research problems in my field of research in particular. There are many
important prevailing research problems pertinent to Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering that I
would be interested in investigating, for instance, Shock control for aircraft drag reduction, Design
optimization of high altitude long endurance aircraft for telecommunication, Interfacing aerodynamics with
structure for transonic wing design, and Adaptive wing for high lift etc. In my research thesis at under
graduation, I worked for a very famous Industry in Pakistan while the aim of the project was “To
propose an optimized design of a composite lap joint of an aircraft.”

During my undergraduate degree, I have studied various courses that have accorded me a good
understanding of my chosen fields of study. I have developed good numerical analytical problem-
solving skills and am comfortable working with a number of software tools used world-wide for
Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering for instance ANSYS, GAMBIT, FLUENT and AUTOCAD.
Furthermore, I have a good command over MATLAB on which I have worked extensively during
my B.S.

Right after the completion of my studies, I went to United Kingdom for doing further studies. I got
admission in Post graduate diploma in science and Engineering at Sheffield International
College. As a result of my interest in higher studies, I passed this qualification with distinction and
thus I was declared the Top student of the class. As a result of my excellent performance, I was
awarded £2000 scholarship by Sheffield International College and £3000 scholarship from
University of Sheffield.
On a personal note, I feel that there exists a dire urge within myself to contribute in the field of
Aerospace/Mechanical. Using Mechanical for peace and harmony, I intend to make this much
world a better place to live in. I see this masters program as a great opportunity to realize what is
desired by me to be gifted to humanity. My ultimate desire is to play a role in developing a
solution that would help save lives, the significance of which is evident from the Holy Scripture:

“if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind” (Qur'an 5:32)

My aim is to earn a Master’s degree from a reputable university in Singapore, with a reasonable
amount of course-work in the beginning to familiarize me with the academic set-up and bring me
abreast with current work in the field. My academic background, knowledge about the subject
and strong mathematical skills can be put to good use and would surely be improved during the
course of acquiring a master’s degree. I am confident that I am fully equipped to pursue higher
education in top-quality research environment.
