Part1

It is true that teenagers are less guilty than adults as their brain continues to gain maturity.
Evidences to support just fact that teenagers are less guilty are there as one can refer to the laws
of many countries, where the punishment for a crime committed by teenager is different and
lesser than the same crime committed by an adult. This fact can also be supported by the
biological changes that the teenagers are having. They experience the spurt of various activities
like physical changes happening in the teenagers and some may feel lot of stress due to this new
development with their experience. Some teenagers tend to be more aggressive as they feel lot of
stress, and this may result into the vent to their feelings (Shoemaker, 2017). Teenagers also start
experiencing the new sexual life or experience and this leads them to another level of thinking
and situation which at time is very difficult for them to handle. Furthermore, lack of experience
and knowledge which gets richer only by age, leads them to take certain decisions or actions
which are not seen very favorably by the laws. As this is a common phenomenon and the body
has not yet developed completely in the teenagers, including the brain, so laws have a different
view to the actions that they have committed. This is the reason we have juvenile delinquency
homes or rehabilitation centers for the teenaged crime perpetrators. I think, therefore, the laws
are fully justified as they have lesser punishment than the adults (Griffiths, 2017).

Part 2
The body starts growing in the teenage and this is the age when the teenagers experience their
first sexual feeling. They have the tendency of exploration and this leads them to the Sexually
transmitted Infections. In this regard, there is following URL is noted:

The article has been published by American sexual health Association.
The information on this site is credible as this is by a group and not by an individual. Usually
when the article is published by a group, it is not before it would have a better proof reading,
editing and verification about its veracity, given that the group is operated by a team of
professionals. Secondly the article has the facts and figures which seem to be quite accurate
based on the study from this course as well as from the related research.
The contents of this article can be summarized as follows. The article reports that the 12 th
standard school students could have engaged in sexual intercourse. Moreover, about 20%
sexually active teens may be having 4 or more sexual partners. This figure keeps rising in the
post high school. This makes them vulnerable to sexually transmitted infections (STIs). These
are credible figures corroborated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
About 50% of STIs occur in young people age though it has just 27% of the sexually active
population. CDC also suggests that 25 % occurs in teen age itself.

The most interesting and thought provoking fact from this article is the correlation between STI
and teenage. This establishes and even supports the information which I shared in Part1. These
facts have been supported by CDC, but at the same time it is very alarming and thought
provoking.
The new information for me and the three facts that were not in the textbook are perhaps:

a. 50% of STIs occur in young people age

b. 27% of the sexually active population is in this young age
c. CDC has suggested that 25 % STI occurs at teenage

This was quite a good source but I would like to learn as to whether the teenagers have
knowledge about taking care of themselves in terms of hygiene and protected sex.
