Activity 1

Any three below:

Desktop and Programs: Show your entire desktop or just a program to everyone in a Skype for Business meet-
ing, call or instant messaging conversation. If you have confidential information or files that you don’t want peo-
ple to see, use Present Programs instead of Desktop.

PowerPoint: Upload and share a PowerPoint presentation from your computer to annotate slides and see pre-
senter notes. PowerPoint slides are an effective way to get your ideas across and you can also upload and
share documents from other Office programs. Annotating a presentation doesn’t change the actual file, but feel
free to save a new copy with the annotations. You can even make the slides available to all attendees after the
meeting.

Whiteboard: A whiteboard is a blank page that you can use to brainstorm with other participants. This is great
for when it’s easier to draw something than to talk about it. You can use the panel on the right to switch between
the different annotation options, like the pen, highlighter and eraser. When your meeting is over, you can save
the whiteboard with the data from the collaboration and even see who added or changed what by hovering over
the items.

Poll: Get quick feedback during a meeting by customising a poll. Select Poll after clicking the Present Content
button and in the Create a Poll window, type your question and answer choices and then click Create. The poll
page opens in the meeting and results are shown to everyone as participants select an option.

Polling will help you make decisions and make a final call on a topic.

Q&A: The Q&A feature in Skype for Business provides a structured environment for answering questions during
a meeting. Attendees can ask questions, but only presenters can answer. If you want a record of the Q&A ses-
sion, click Save As, type a name and save the file on your computer. This will save the questions, answers, time
stamps and the names of attendees and presenters who participated.

Add Attachments: Share files and documents with participants for easy download.

Activity 2

Discuss who is able to share content in a Skype for Business meeting and how these settings
can be changed:

Only a presenter in a Skype for Business meeting can share content. Presenters are
determined before the Skype for Business meeting invite is sent.

You can use the sharing bar during a meeting to allow other people to have control – simply
click Give Control and then select someone’s name. They will now be able to make changes
on your screen.

Participants can request control at any time during a meeting, or you can allow people to
automatically take control by selecting Give Control Automatically on the sharing toolbar.

Activity 3

During a Skype for Business meeting, you can choose between sharing your entire 1.
desktop or just a certain 2. program. If you have confidential files on your computer, it’s best
just to share your 3. Desktop.

Participants can make use of the 4. Annotations toolbar to draw, highlight or make other
changes to a PowerPoint presentation. This doesn’t change the original file and you can save
a new copy with the changes.

A 5. whiteboard is a blank page that you can use to brainstorm with other participants. To see
who added or changed what on this page, you can simply 6. hover over the individual item.

To get quick feedback during a meeting, it’s a good idea to create a 7. poll where you can
type your question and various answer choices. The results are shown to 8. everyone as the
participants select an option.

The 9. Q&A feature provides a structured environment for answering questions during a
meeting. Anyone can ask questions but only 10. participants can answer.
