Pre-cleaning & rinsing Ultrasonic

1.0 OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this document is to define the process of how to pre-clean and rinse the parts
before they are Ultrasonic washed.
2.0 RESPONSIBILITY: Assembly operators, Assembly supervisor.
3.0 METHOD
1. The parts after final machining will be moved near Assembly area and machining will inform the
assembly supervisor. Assembly supervisor will now designate a operator or himself for pre-cleaning
and rinsing operation.
2. It is the responsibility of the designated operator to wear proper PPE. All personnel staff shall refer
to local health and safety documents and safety data sheets.
3. Designated operator will move the machined parts to deburring area and fill both the tanks.
4. Tank 1 will be filled with ‘Crystal Simple green degreaser’ as shown below with 1:15 to 1:30 ratio
with water i.e. 1 litre simple green and between 15 to 30 litres of water.

5. Tank 2 will be filled with tap water.


For cleaning, follow steps below:-
1. Part will be immersed in tank 1 and shaken for 20-30 seconds or till debris has visibly fallen off from
the part.
2. Now leave the part in tank for approx 2 mins or until the debris has settle down.
3. Take out the part and immerse it in tank 2 filled with water.
4. Shake the part in the tank for 20-30 seconds and leave it in tank for about a minute.
5. Take out the part and keep it on skid and cover it with clean foam.
6. Parts are now ready for Ultrasonic cleaning and should be moved to ultrasonic washing station.
