Repair shop is a room to process of equipment working such as
repairing, assembling, or making. The repair shop shape is different, in
general a repair shop needs wide area and roofed. The practicum activities ini
the automotive repair shop is one of process in the learning activities of
vocational students. In the process, many obstacles occurred, such as the
repair shop condition. The research aimed at knowing the influence of repair
shop condition to the learning interest and satisfaction of automotive body
engineering students of SMK.
The research was done in Malang and in Purwosari. The populations
were all SMK which have body repair shop in East Java. The amount of SMK
which have body repair in East Java are four SMKs, with random sampling
technique, it was taken 2 SMKs. The research was correlational descriptive
research. The data collection technique by observation and by using
questionnaire.
The results showed (1) descriptively, it was known the condition of
ventilation, temperature, voice, humidity, have good classification, lighting
has poor classification while learning interest, student satisfaction have good
classification (2) from F test, obtained that ventilation condition variable
(X 1 ), equipment completeness (X 7 ) simultaneously influence significantly to
the learning interest. It was proven with significance level of 0.031<0.05
(confidence 95%), with R square 0.183 means the data influence positively to
the variables. F test results showed the ventilation condition (X 1 ), equipment
completeness (X 7 ) simultaneously influenced significantly to the student
satisfaction. It was proven with the significance o.00<0.05 (confidence 95%),
and R square 0.233 mean the data influenced positively to the variable.
Conclusion: the condition of automotive body repair shop of SMK
(ventilation, lighting, voice, humidity, layout, cleanliness, completeness of
equipment influence significantly to the learning interest and student
satisfaction for SMK students in all East Java)
Suggestion, for other researchers to develop the research because many
other variables that were not investigated in the research.
