模糊多屬性分析應用於廠商之供應鏈敏捷性評估

6. Illustrative example

In this section, the application of the proposed method to the case of a A-firm in the
bicycle industry is discussed. Generally, a bike product consists of eleven subsystems,
including a frame, suspension fork, derailleur shifters, brokers, hubs and rims, tires,
pedals, handle bar, stem, saddle, and seat post. Each subsystem has several models that
customers can select. Thus a bicycle supply chain comprises bicycle parts suppliers, a
bicycle assembly company, distributors and dealers (or retailers), and customers. The
bicycle assembly company, i.e., A-firm, purchases parts from over 270 firms, such as
Shimano, Rockshox, Honour wheel, Answer, etc., and assembles bikes from these parts.
The bikes are then delivered to distributors and dealers that sell complete products to
customers. The distributors and dealers include Specialized USA, Trek, Scoot, Hodata,
and Giant etc. In 2010 and 2011, annual group sales of A-firm were NT $44.23 billon
and NT $44.37 billon, respectively. It consists of four manufacturers and eight
marketing companies. The four manufacturers include A-Taiwan, A-Europe, Kun-sian,
A-Phoenix, while the marketing companies include A-Taiwan, A-Europe, A-United
States, A-Australia, A-Japan, A-China, A-Canada, and A-New Zealand, etc.
Since increasing customization, consumer demand for global bicycle product markets
has changed so rapidly that agility of supply chain has become increasingly important.
Supply chain of A-firm attempted to respond to the changing marketplace by
simultaneously providing local agility and global integration, and reducing its time to
market and improving overall competitiveness to satisfy its customers. Before making
investment decisions, the A-FSCA would be studied. The eleven-rank linguistic scale
chosen by experts will be used for assessment, as shown in Table 3. Based on the
evaluation hierarchy of FSCA, as shown in Fig. 1, five dimensions were used: internal
integration agility, external integration agility with suppliers, external integration agility
with customers, volume flexibility, and mix flexibility. Each agility dimension was
assessed by three agility metrics: alertness, quickness, and responsiveness; each
flexibility dimension was assessed by four flexibility metrics: efficiency, responsiveness,
versatility, and robustness. Experts use the linguistic terms denoted in Table 1 to
evaluate the importance grades of dimensions and related metrics, and to assess the
performance ratings of metrics under each of the dimensions. Table 3 lists the data
