BACKGROUND:

The research paper aims to help reader enough information on parental guidance

and strict restriction of using excessive social media website especially to the

student who have divided their time management on studying and extracurricular

activities. Parents who have children aged between nine year old and above

undergoing education which we called them as Leaner’s. Furthermore, the paper

also served as an instrument that would provide an insight to the reader on how to

discipline Learner from using excessive exposure to social media website. In fact,

parents should provide more time in helping growing learner not to engage too much

time in social media exposure because it might alter from good to bad habit in the

part of leaner’s mind setting and become addictive into it which made the learner

change the mind orientation into a worst behavior by indulging learner much focus

on nonsense chatting and viewing video that influences violence and hard headed

mind.

CHAPTER I: STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEMS

In today's society, the use of social media has become a necessary daily

activity. Social media is typically used for social interaction and access to news and

information, and decision making. It is a valuable communication tool with others

locally and worldwide, as well as to share, create, and spread information. The

biggest advantage of social media is better communication. A student can connect

with anyone at any point in time via Kids Messenger or WhatsApp. They can use

such platforms via their smartphone, tablet or computer, and learners can exchange

questions, make phone calls or video calls. If a student is stuck with their homework,

they can always communicate with their friends or tutors. They don’t need to wait

and meet the teacher physically. Indeed, the research has been created to improve

awareness among reading of the following concerns as mentioned below;

1. Discuss the importance of using social media

2. Explain the advantage and disadvantage of social media.

3. Factor that affect the excessive use of social media.

4. Boundaries on accessibility on using the internet.

5. Role of parents in guiding Learner’s accessing the social media.

6. Relationship of Learner’s and parent in dealing with social media usage.

CHAPTER II: SCOPE AND DELIMITATION:
The primary goal of the research paper in to identify the common practice of parent

how they handle their children especially to those who are studying while at the

same time they are exposing children from excessive used of the social media

website. Random survey is being conducted to selected parents who has children

pursuing their education with aged limit from nine year old onward. The parents and

children were given each survey questionnaire to ensure proper fair result as shown

on the proceeding sections. During survey selection process, it was decided that ten

samples has been consulted for answering the survey questionnaire to gathering

enough information and analyzing the data results for the research final conclusion

and recommendation. The scope focus on the result of the survey questionnaire

gathered during execution of research study. Other topics related to the effect of

excessive exposure of social medial is beyond with the discussion of the study.

Social media help the parents stay involved in the child’s learning. Via the school’s

Twitter or Facebook feed parents can be updated on school-related activities,

projects, and events that are happening. The school teachers can get in touch with

the parents in case they want to share the child's progress via Skype or other secure

online platforms the institution uses. A social network for parents can be created too

via WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger, which can enable them to be informed about

school matters, learning, and education. These are all positive impacts social media

have on parents' communication with the school so as to learn about, share and

observe their children's' academic and personal progress at school. This again is a

positive impact social media have on students' performance as their parents can

offer better informed academic support at home?

CHAPTER IV: RESULTS AND DATA ANALYSIS

The popularity of media, particularly social media, in youth makes it a potentially

influential force. The findings discussed above provide a foundation for future

research and have opened up important discussions on how social media use may

influence body dissatisfaction. However, many studies are correlational, and the

causal mechanisms behind the potential relationships are still unknown. Much of the

findings may be applicable to an individual and not generalizable to the general

public.  Much work is needed in the future to parse apart potential factors for

causation such as peer pressure and photo editing capabilities. Scientists have

identified specific areas to focus on, such as the need to clarify the construct being

measured (i.e., whether the outcome is eating disorder pathology, body

dissatisfaction, and so forth) and to design the overall experiment by addressing the

limitations of past research. All in all, majority of the respondent are knowledgeable

with the use pc’s, gadgets and of course the use social media and other platform.

Based on the survey result, below are the list of summary and final evaluation for the

As data result shown above, it is clear that the majority of the learner have access

the social media website while studying their lesson. Therefore, it is relevant the

parental guidance must be introduce for comprehensive learning study. Almost

majority of the parents are not strict in dealing with their children accessing to social

media while studying. There should be a strong consultation among parent on how

to mitigate such rampant problems to minimize more occurrence of the chaos among

learner in the society today. However, multiple studies have found a strong link

between heavy social media and an increased risk for depression, anxiety,

loneliness, self-harm, and even suicidal thoughts. Social media may promote

negative experiences such as: Inadequacy about your life or appearance.

Although, Social networking services can help young people develop their interests

and find other people who share the same interests. They can help introduce young

people to new things and ideas, and deepen appreciation of existing interests.

Through social media networks, they can create new friendships, express their views

and opinions, and even create 'new identities'. Social media also

exposes students to a whole new way of learning. Research has shown

that students who are frequent users of social media are more innovative and exhibit

better memory.

The primary reason we use social media is to stay connected. The modern world is a

place where the connection between individuals is simplified by the various channels

and platforms available to us on the internet. The impact of social media on millennials

and Generation Z has been more evident as compared to older generations. 

In fact, according to a report by the non-profit child advocacy group Common Sense

Media, one in five teens said social media makes them feel more confident, compared

with 4% who said it makes them feel less so. In the survey of more than 1,000 13 – 17-

year-olds, 28% said social networking made them feel more outgoing versus 5% who

said it made them feel less so; and 29% said it made them feel less shy versus the 3%

who said it made them feel more introverted. When it comes to relationships with

friends, more than half (52%) of teens said social media helped to improve

relationships versus just 4% who said it had a negative impact.

Students, especially, can now communicate and share thoughts through various social

media platforms in real-time, regardless of their geographical locations or distance.

This is just one of the positive impacts of social media on student life.

College and university students spend a lot of their time on social media. Why? Maybe

it’s because there’s a huge amount of freedom in these platforms. Students are free to

do as they choose and socialise with whoever they like. Through social media

networks, they can create new friendships, express their views and opinions, and even

create ‘new identities’.

Social media also exposes students to a whole new way of learning. Research has

shown that students who are frequent users of social media are more innovative and

exhibit better memory. It opens up new avenues for researching, encouraging students

to get creative and think outside the box - which in an age where innovation is highly

prized, can go far! Unsure how well an essay or a project is going? With social media,

your friends, family, and lecturers can provide insights throughout the process,

hopefully leading to a better, more refined end product.

RECOMMENDATION:

Today, both social media and technology have become an indispensable part of our

lives. Every individual who is above 13 years old will have their account on any of the

popular social media networks such as Facebook, Snap Chat, Instagram, etc.

WhatsApp has raised the minimum age to 16 years old. During accessing with these

platform their should be proper monitoring by the parents depending with the aged of

their children. Adolescent children must require parental guidance and strict

mentoring among parents by teaching the children of the basic knowledge and what

are the disadvantage and advantage of social media sites. The parent should

allowed children to access social media site with high sexual contents and strong

password is highly recommended to establish.

Therefore, it is highly recommended that children at their young age should be

guided and monitored while using the social media website to ensue children’s mind

will not be corrupted and addicted with demon website and online games. Many

children have ruin their life because of these habit which actually can be avoided by

proper handling of parents and guardians inside the family home. Social activities is

likely the best remedy which I can recommend to isolate children not to be exposed

with social media and online gaming.

CONCLUSION:

Another great advantage of social media in education is distance learning

opportunities. There are many disadvantaged students who are not able to acquire

formal education by attending regular classes in an educational institution. With the

help of various online tools along with social media, modern educators are able to

attract students through distance learning programs. Soon, this will be an

inseparable part of our modern education system. Today, hosting live lectures via

Skype or webinars via Webinar. Jam is the way forward to allowing students who live

in remote areas of the world to access education. At the same time, the parents and

teachers must note that high security must be maintained if a minor is making use of

any social media websites. There are great tips for keeping kids safe online which

are for sure useful to all parents nowadays.

In conclusion, social media is awesome. It has way more uses than being just social.

Students are recognizing the communication abilities social media has in e-learning

and putting it to use on a daily basis. I hope that instructors can learn from this article

and really try to meet the students half way. Make social media assignments for your

classes or a Facebook group for an entire class.  Bring the classroom together on

social media and be aware of the changing landscapes that it is bringing to the world
