But instead of cars and trucks traveling on these highways, it’s phone calls, texts,
emails, payments…

As you can imagine, anytime a major highway is built in America, the companies
that build the highway enjoy a surge in revenue.
That’s because lots of concrete, asphalt, gravel, and steel goes into a highway, so
raw material suppliers do well…
… And construction companies that build bridges, pour cement, and move dirt
see their revenues surge.
But there’s a downside in all of that…
Once a highway is built, construction companies and raw material suppliers

make no more money on the project.
It’s a “one and done” revenue opportunity.
Good, but not great.
The world’s best entrepreneurs and investors know the build out of a major

actual building of the road.

But so many of these guys are missing the boat.

largest investment opportunities we’ll ever see in our lives.

Would you rather employ a basic and novice strategy — road building — and

Incredibly, we’ve seen this exact scenario play out before…

Who are these companies?
Microsoft is a great example.
Microsoft created the software that made it easy for people to navigate and send
emails on the web.
I’m sure many of our viewers and listeners used Internet Explorer or Outlook at
some point in your lives.
And you, your friends and just about every business in America gladly paid over
and over and over again to use it, am I right?
Now look at Microsoft’s share price compared to the internet road builders…
See the difference?
Microsoft wasn’t a “one and done” opportunity.
Because it built its business along the highway, it’s created lifelong, lasting wealth
for its shareholders.
Microsoft rose 18,027% from the early ’90s until present day — that’s 12 times
higher than the best-performing infrastructure play!
Tra c is money.
How about another one?
EBay is a fantastic example!
One of the internet’s most popular e-commerce sites.

Lots of recurring revenue there, right?
Over $10.5 BILLION last year alone.

It’s certainly not a one and done company…
It makes money over and over again thanks to the World Wide Web.
It’s soared TWICE as high as the infrastructure plays.
Incredible, right?
Are you starting to see how this works?
EBay and Microsoft didn’t build the internet.
They built their businesses alongside the internet…
Massively scalable businesses that collect revenue streams over and over again,
from all the tra c the new highway created.
Now, I still haven’t gone over what is probably the biggest and most extreme
example yet…
The largest retailer on the web!
Amazon makes an unbelievable amount of money selling things on the internet.
$280 billion in 2019 alone. It just keeps growing and growing and growing.
Amazon as an investment has returned 1,298 times the money to early investors.
I’ll say it again: Tra c is money.
This is the most important nancial concept you can possibly understand right
now.
Anytime a new highway is built, the “road builders” do OK from the short-term
pro t surge…
But if you want to create life-changing wealth, you MUST own the companies that
bene t from the decades of tra c the new highway creates.
That’s the big secret most people fail to understand when it comes to investing in
these new communication networks.
We saw the same exact thing in 2009 with the build out of the 4G network.
This, of course, is the wireless network all our smartphones currently run on.
The precursor to 5G.
Look at the upper corner of your smartphone and you’ll probably see the little 4G
insignia
Companies like Alcatel, Ericsson, Nokia, and ZTE built out this network — the
chips, towers and communication equipment.
Again, here’s how well these “road builders” have done.
Alcatel has done quite well in the years after 4G was launched, a 391% gain.
Now, that’s pretty good.
But it’s a drop in the bucket compared to the businesses who built alongside the
4G network.
You see, 4G was a big deal because it allowed consumers to stream movies…
access social media from smartphones… mobile payments… and ride sharing…
The businesses who were positioned alongside the 4G highway did much, much
better than the road builders…
Facebook, Net ix, and mobile-payments company Square were just a few of
these companies — and they pro ted immensely…
Ride-sharing company Uber went from being worth $5 million in 2010 to being
worth a stunning $70 billion in 2019, because the 4G network paved the way for
its business.
That’s an earth-moving thirteen thousand times your money. Folks, that turns
every dollar invested into more than $13,000.
Tell me, did Facebook, Uber and Net ix build the 4G network?
No way!
They built businesses alongside it.

And it’s true: They can give you diversi ed exposure to an industry like
technology, energy, or retail.
However, here’s a HUGE downside most people never consider…
Because ETFs and index funds typically hold dozens or even hundreds of
different stocks, a buyer is virtually guaranteed to end up owning a lot of average
companies — and even a few rotten eggs.
You get the bad with the good.
For every Amazon there’s a Sears…
For every Google there’s a WebCrawler.
Conversely, you could do what a lot of analysts are telling you to do right now and
buy one 5G stock.
Placing all your chips on one single company can pay off big if things work out.
But there’s a big drawback with this approach, as well.
Buying just one stock exposes you to signi cant downside risk.
If there is a major problem at your chosen company (like an accounting scandal

or a crazy management decision), you could suffer a big loss and miss out on

sector and buy all of them in equal amounts.
This is the best way to take advantage of any long-term trend, while minimizing
risk and maximizing reward.
In fact, it’s been one of the secrets to our research rm’s success over the past
ve decades.
Back in the 1990s, for example — this is a strategy we employed — as the internet
boom was getting underway…
That’s why we recommended owning a “focused portfolio” of 13 internet

companies building alongside the information superhighway.
I’m sure you’ll recognize many of these names…
But back then, believe it or not, most of these companies were still small and
unknown.
Collectively, our portfolio of 13 “Digital Revolution” stocks from May 1996 rose an
