this five‐week course focuses on the story arc—the basic 
structure  of  novel  writing  ‐  and  the  all‐important  happy 
ending. 
Learn how to make your characters stand out, your 'black 
moment'  blacker  and  your  payoff  scenes  even  more 
powerful  through  a  series  of  engaging  exercises  and 
lively  discussion.  Bring  along  the  first  five  pages  of  your 
work  in  progress,  or  a  pen  and  paper  if  you're  just 
starting out.

Stand  aside  JK  Rowling—there’s  a  new  fantasy  writer 
coming  through!  Is  this  you?  Learn  the  difference  Teacher: Margaret McCarthy

and Song Lyrics for Children

Let’s explore exciting subjects for writing for children; the 
3 “r’s”; Rhythm, Rhyme and Repetition; using alliteration, 
assonance  and  onomatopoeia.  Thought  about  using 
humour; fantasy or realism? What about using poems as 
picture books? In this half day workshop you will produce  Redraft your novel  
a  three  stanza  poem  or  song  lyric  on  a  subject  of  your 
Perfect  for  Novel  in  a  Month  Graduates  and  anyone  who  has 
choice.   completed  the  first  draft  of  their  novel.  Please  register  your
