There are three phases of any confrontation. before, during and after.

(Also, the instants just

before and the transitions which are pauses.

Defense normally comes before a fight, remain calm and expect the unexpected, know when
and how to empathize and deescalate, these are all defensive processes. If you want the
ultimate defense don’t be in the wrong place at that time, stay sober and learn how to be
aware and focus on the probabilistic certainty of that which is yet to occur but is pretty
much a sure thing to happen if you were able to clearly see and consider events as they
unfold. All of this is situational and mind-set. Don’t get caught up in figuring out why things
are happening, you need to think quickly and think ahead, even if is only 3 milliseconds
ahead. Always watch what the moving system is doing, because it takes time in order to
avoid being reactive like getting flanked or surrounded without realizing it, Think ahead.
Another thing before the fight, train, it’s too late to practice now, you could have trained and
stayed in-shape instead of going out to the Karaoke, every night.

During the fight, usually the best defense is precise, decisive effective, violent force. Here are
a few things to remember. Don’t block, let your head protect itself and use your hands and
feet as weapons. If you have a habit of putting your arm up to shield and hide behind, you
will get your arms cut and its lazy. Rather attack first while you get your feet moving and slip
and duck with your head, bob and weave with your body.

When you hit make sure you have your weight, a direct line strike to the target and your
center of momentum, aligned together. Your target is not what you see. the visual target is a
reflection of light that has already occurred. You have to penetrate and see your focus target
a couple of tenths of a second ahead of time and about 2 inches into the target, beyond the
limit of skin surface elasticity.

Use low kicks to the shin, knee and hamstring, but if you have a good stretch, kick the crap
out of his liver which is on the same side as your left hand and just to the bottom of the
ribcage on the back. A nice upward rising kick to the groin works well, as long as you use it
at the right time.

Don’t telegraph your strike, by winding up. Compress your energy and explode with your
punch so that it lands on a good target with all your weight behind it. For kicks step using
your rear foot to initiate forward motion by a step-up, close the gap to your effective range,
hand fake high and wait for his right hand to probe, and let your left slip kick rise almost
parallel to his thigh, tacking up his thigh will get you to the liver unobstructed. For hand
strikes Initiate your move into the target with your front foot stepping first and landing as
you hit. If you land and then hit you will be pushing instead of hitting and if you hit with
your weight still behind you will float your punch.

Knocking someone out requires that you accelerate his brain mass into the skull or you
accelerate the skull so that the grey matter mass hits the opposite side of the skull, like
whiplash. Try to get him so that his head is on the ground or very close to a wall or a
backdrop as you hit him., otherwise the force you hit with will be reduced as he slips out of
your effective striking range.

Remember Save Time because you cannot sustain high output indefinitely, so Save energy
by staying calm and precise and follow the following suggestions:
When do you confront?
1. When you seize the initiative, from an untenable position, and no safe passage exists
otherwise.

2. When the need to rescue or extract is greater than the danger.

3. When you are out of time, to avoid counter domination or to support another person

When do you act.

1. Act when you are at the optimal point between preparation and necessity

2. Never force your trigger or jump the gun.

3. Before their preparation, or during their preparation

Expect the Unexpected –

1. before things start, never reveal your state of preparation

2. Always expect weapons and support in numbers

3. Never increase the level of awareness or preparation of the opposing force

After the fight, Do not flee the scene if you are successful defending yourself and you have
caused injuries to others. You need to make a police report. If you are injured, go to the
hospital to have a medical report drawn up, this is your evidence in a court of law. Never
lose your temper or be sarcastic. Be as objective as possible without emotional adjectives as
you describe the occurence.
