Atlantis !

Fact or Fable

Have you ever wondered about ancient civilizations, about lost continents, and about Atlantis? What is it, about the legends and tales of these
ancient yet advanced men of old, that has enticed and intrigued our intellect? Could all of the UFO sightings, and the strange, overnight appearing,
Crop Circles, somehow relate to, or be connected with these Lost Worlds? What about the Devils Triangle, and the strange happenings that have
occurred there? What I purpose to do, with God's guidance, and some unorthodox research and postulations, is to prove that Atlantis existed. That
the Greek and Phoenician gods and goddesses are just delusionary tales of this once existing kingdom. That all the lands and peoples around the
Atlantic ocean have similar origins in their language and customs. That physically, the lands surrounding this Ancient civilization all have common
traits and features. That even now you can find remnants and traces of this lost civilization, and to top it off, I will show you that God would have us
learn about these ancient worlds, and that when we open up our minds to truth, and throw out the traditions that make void God's word, we can know
about these strange and wonderful things, learn about ancient and advanced civilizations, and, all the while increasing our faith in God and in his son
Jesus Christ, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

In order to fully understand what the Legend and stories of Atlantis are all about, we need to take a look at the actual text that exists concerning this
fabled land. The story that we have, was written by Plato. Plato lived about 400 years before Christ. He rewrites a story that he had learned from his
ancestor, by the name of Solon. Solon was a famous law-giver of Athens some 200 years before Plato. Solon had visited Egypt and had learned of
this mysterious island in the Atlantic, through his talks with the wise men of Sais. Solon's conversation was with the most learned of the Egyptian
Priests. They talked about history and philosophy. He was very astute at conversing and pulling information from the minds of these priests. Plato,
however, began writing this story late in his life and consequently died before it was finished. As a result, we have an amazing story of this
intriguing island, with it's magnificent courts and enclosures, and it's grand entrances, yet we are left wanting to learn more, because this story ends
right in the middle of a discourse. So to begin our study, lets consider Solon's discourse. This discourse is lengthy and if you have heard of it, or read
some of it, you may want to skip to the end of it and continue on my discussion. It is, however, very interesting reading if you choose to do so.

Plato's Discourse on Atlantis

Critias: Then listen, Socrates, to a strange tale, which is, however, certainly true, as Solon, who was the wisest of the seven sages, declared. He was
a relative and a great friend of my great-grandfather, Dropidas, as he himself says in several of his poems; and Dropidas told Critias, my grandfather,
who remembered, and told us, that there were of old great and marvellous actions of the Athenians, which have past into oblivion through time and
the destruction of the human race - and one in particular, which was the greatest of them all, the recital of which will be a suitable testimony of our
gratitude to you...
Socrates: Very good; and what is this ancient famous action of which Critias spoke, not as a mere legend, but as a veritable action of the Athenian
state, which Solon recounted?
Critias: I will tell an old-world story which I heard from an aged man ; for Critias was, as he said, at that time nearly ninety years of age, and I was
about ten years of age. Now the day was that day of the Apaturia which is called the registration of youth ; at which, according to custom, our
parents gave prizes for recitations, and the poems of several poets were recited by us boys, and many of us sung the poems of Solon, which were
new at the time. One of our tribe, either because this was his real opinion, or because he thought that he would please Critias, said that, in his
judgement, Solon was not only the wisest of men but the noblest of poets. The old man, I well remember, brightened up at this, and said, smiling :
"Yes, Amynander. if Solon had only, like other poets, made poetry the business of his life, and had completed the tale which he brought with him
from Egypt, and had not been compelled, by reason of the factions and troubles which he found stirring in this country when he came home, to
attend other matters, in my opinion he would have been as famous as Homer, or Hesiod, or any poet."
"And what was that poem about, Critias?" said the person who addressed him.
"About the greatest action which the Athenians ever did, and which ought to have been most famous, but which, through the lapse of time and the
destruction of the actors, has not come down to us."
"Tell us," said the other, "the whole story, and how and from whom Solon heard this veritable tradition."
He replied : " At the head of the Egyptian Delta, where the Nile river divides, there is a certain district which is called the district of Sais, and the
great city of the district is also called Sais, and is the city from which Amasis the king was sprung. And the citizens have a deity who is their
foundress : she is called in the Egyptian tongue Neith, which is asserted by them to be the same whom the Hellenes called Athene. Now, the citizens
of this city are great lovers of the Athenians, and say that they are in some way related to them. Thither came Solon, who was received by them with
great honor ; and he asked the priests, who were the most skillful in such matters, about antiquity, and made the discovery that neither he nor any
other Hellene knew anything worth mentioning about the times of old. On one occasion, when he was drawing them on to speak of antiquity, he
began to tell them about the most ancient things in our part of the world - about Phoroneus, who is called 'the first,' and about Niobe ; and, after the
Deluge, to tell of the lives of Deucalion and Pyrrha ; and he traced the genealogy of their descendants, and attempted to reckon how many years old
were the events of which he was speaking, and to give the dates. Thereupon, one of the priests, who was of very great age, said, ' O Solon, Solon,
you Hellenes are but children, and there is never an old man who is an Hellene.' Solon, hearing this, said, ' What do you mean?' 'I mean to say,' he
replied, 'that in mind you are all young ; there is no old opinion handed down among you by ancient tradition, nor any science which is hoary with
age. And I will tell you the reason of this : there have been, and there will be again, many destructions of mankind arising out of many causes. There
is a story which even you have preserved, that once upon a time Phaethon, the son of Helios, having yoked the steeds in his father's chariot, because
he was not able to drive them in the path of his father, burnt up all that was upon the earth, and was himself destroyed by a thunder-bolt. Now, this
has the form of a myth, but really signifies a declination of the bodies moving around the earth and in the heavens, and a great conflagration of
things upon the earth recurring at long intervals of time : when this happens, those who live upon the mountains and in dry and lofty places are more
liable to destruction than those who dwell by rivers or on the sea-shore ; and from this calamity, the Nile, who is our never-failing savior, saves and
delivers us. When, on the other hand, the gods purge the earth with a deluge of water, among you herdsman and shepherds on the mountains are the
survivors, whereas those of you who live in cities are carried by the rivers into the sea ; but in this country neither at that time nor at any other does
the water come from above on the fields, having always a tendency to come up from below, for which reason the things preserved here are said to be
the oldest. The fact is, that wherever the extremity of winter frost or of summer sun does not prevent, the human race is always increasing at times,
and at other times diminishing in numbers. And whatever happened either in your country or in ours, or in any other region of which we are
informed - if any action which is noble or great, or in any other way remarkable has taken place, all that has been written down of old, and is
preserved in our temples ; whereas you and other nations are just being provided with letters and the other things which states require ; and then, at
the usual period, the stream from heaven descends like a pestilence, and leaves only those of you who are destitute of letters and education ; and thus
you have to begin all over again as children, and know nothing of what happened in ancient times, either among us or among yourselves. As for
those genealogies of yours which you have recounted to us, Solon, they are no better than the tales of children ; for, in the first place, you remember
one deluge only, whereas there were many of them ; and in the next place, you do not know that there dwelt in your land the fairest and noblest race
of men which ever lived, of whom you and your whole city are but a seed or remnant. And this was unknown to you, because for many generations
the survivors of that destruction died and made no sign. For there was a time, Solon, before that great deluge of all, when the city which is now
Athens was first in war, and was preeminent for the excellence of her laws, and is said to have performed the noblest deeds, and to have had the
fairest constitution of any of which tradition tells, under the face of heaven.' Solon marvelled at this, and earnestly requested the priest to inform him
exactly and in order about these former citizens. 'You are welcome to hear about them, Solon,' said the priest. 'both for your own sake and for that of
the city ; and, above all, for the sake of the goddess who is the common patron and protector and educator of both our cities. She founded your city a
thousand years before ours, receiving from the earth and Hephaestus the seed of your race, and then she founded ours, the constitution of which is set
down in our sacred registers as 8000 years old. As touching the citizens of 9000 years ago, I will briefly inform you of their laws and of the noblest
of their actions ; and the exact particulars of the whole we will hereafter go through at our leisure in the sacred registers themselves. If you compare
these very laws with your own, you will find that many of ours are the counterpart of yours, as they were in the olden time. In the first place, there is
the caste of priests, which is separated from all the others ; next there are the artificers, who exercise their several crafts by themselves, and without
admixture of any other ; and also there is the class of shepherds and that of hunters, as well as that of husbandmen ; and you will observe, too, that
the warriors in Egypt are separated from all the other classes, and are commanded by the law only to engage in war ; moreover, the weapons with
which they are equipped are shields and spears, and this the goddess taught first among you, and then in Asiatic countries, and we among the
Asiatics first adopted.
" ' Then, as to wisdom, do you observe what care the law took from the very first, searching out and comprehending the whole order of things down
to prophesy and medicine (the latter with a view to health) ; and out of these divine elements drawing what was needful for human life, and adding
every sort of knowledge which was connected with them. All this order and arrangement the goddess first imparted to you when establishing your
city ; and she chose the spot of earth in which you were born, because she saw that the happy temperament of the seasons in that land would produce
the wisest of men. Wherefore the goddess, who was a lover both of war and of wisdom, selected, and first of all settled that spot which was the most
likely to produce men likest herself. And there you dwelt, having such laws as these and still better ones, and excelled all mankind in all virtue, as
became the children and disciples of the gods. Many great and wonderful deeds are recorded of your state in our histories ; but one of them exceeds
all the rest in greatness and valor ; for these histories tell of a mighty power which was progressing wantonly against the whole of the earth and Asia,
and to which your city put an end. This power came forth out of the Atlantic ocean, for in those days the Atlantic was navigable ; and there was an
island situated in front of the straits which you call the Columns of Heracles : The island was larger than Lybia and Asia put together, and was the
way to other islands, and from the islands you might pass through the whole of the opposite continent which surrounded the true ocean ; For the sea
which is within the Straits of Heracles is only a harbor, having a narrow entrance, but that other is a real sea, and the surrounding land may be most
truly called a continent. Now, in the island of Atlantis there was a great and wonderful empire, which had rule over the whole island and several
others, as well as over parts of the continent ; and, besides these, they subjected the parts of Libya within the Columns of Heracles as far as Egypt,
and of Europe as far as Tyrrhenia. The vast power thus gathered into one, endeavored to subdue at one blow our country and yours, and the whole of
the land which was within the straits ; and then, Solon, your country shone forth, in excellence of her virtue and strength, among all mankind ; For
she was the first in courage and military skill, and was the leader of the Hellenes. And when the rest fell off from her, being compelled to stand
alone, after having undergone the very extremity of danger, she defeated and triumphed over the invaders, and preserved from slavery those who
were not yet subjected, and freely liberated all the others who dwelt within the limits of Heracles. But afterward there occurred violent earthquakes
and floods, and in a single day and night of rain all your warlike men in a body sunk into the earth, and the island of Atlantis in like manor
disappeared, and was sunk beneath the sea. And that is the reason why the sea in those parts is impassable and impenetrable, because there is such a
quantity of shallow mud in the way ; and this was caused by the subsidence of the island.'
"But in addition to the gods whom you have mentioned, I would specially invoke Mnemosyne ; for all the important part of what I have to tell is
dependant on her favor, and it I can recollect and recite enough of what was said by the priests, and brought hither by Solon, I doubt not that I shall
satisfy the requirements of this theatre. To that task, them, I will at once address myself.
" Let me begin by observing, first of all, that nine thousand was the sum of years which had elapsed since the war which was said to have taken
place between all those who dwelt outside the Pillars of Heracles and those who dwelt within them : this war I am now to describe. Of the
combatants on the one side the city of Athens was reported to have been the ruler, and to have directed the contest ; the combatants on the other side
were led by the kings of the islands of Atlantis, which, as I was saying, once had an extent greater than that of Libya and Asia ; and, when afterward
sunk by an earthquake, became an impassable barrier of mud to voyagers sailing from hence to the ocean. The progress of the history will unfold the
various tribes of barbarians and Hellenes which then existed, as they successively appear on the scene ; but I must begin by describing, first of all,
the Athenians as they were in that day, and their enemies who fought with them ; and I shall have to tell of the power and form of government of
both of them. Let us give the precedence to Athens...
" Many great deluges have taken place during the nine thousand years, for that is the number of years which have elapsed since the time of which I
an speaking ; and in all the ages and changes of things there has never been any settlement of the earth flowing down from the mountains, as in other
places, which is worth speaking of ; it has always been carried round in a circle, and disappeared in the depths below. The consequence is that, in
comparison of what then was, there are remaining in small islets only the bones of the wasted body, as they may be called, all the richer and softer
parts of the soil having fallen away, and the mere skeleton of the country being left....
" And next, if I have not forgotten what I heard when I was a child, I will impart to you the character and origin of their adversaries ; for friends
should not keep their stories to themselves, but have them in common. Yet, before proceeding farther in the narrative, I ought to warn you that you
must not be surprised if you should hear Hellenic names given to foreigners. I will tell you the reason for this : Solon, who was intending to use the
tale for his poem, made an investigation into the meaning of the names, and found that the early Egyptians, in writing them down, had translated
them into their own language, and he recovered the meaning of the several names and retranslated them, and copied them out again in our language.
My great-grandfather, Dropidas, had the original writing, which is still in my possession, and was carefully studied by me when I was a child.
Therefore, if you hear names such as are used in this country, you must not be surprised, for I have told you the reason of them.
" The tale, which was of great length, began as follows : I have before remarked, in speaking of the allotments of the gods, that they distributed the
whole earth into portions differing in extent, and made themselves temples and sacrifices. And Poseidon, receiving for his lot the island of Atlantis,
begat children by a mortal woman, and settled them in a part of the island which I will proceed to describe. On the side toward the sea, and in the
center of the whole island, there was a plain which is said to have been the fairest of all plains, and very fertile. Near the plain again, and also in the
centre of the island, at a distance of about fifty stadia, there was a mountain, not very high on any side. In this mountain there dwelt one of the earth-
born primeval men of that country, whose name was Evenor, and he had a wife named Leucippe, and they had an only daughter, who was named
Cleito. The maiden was growing up to womanhood when her father and mother died ; Poseidon fell in love with her, and had intercourse with her ;
and, breaking the ground, enclosed the hill in which she dwelt all round, making alternate zones of sea and land, larger and smaller, encircling one
another ; there were two of land and three of water, which he turned as with a lathe out of the centre of the island, equidistant every way, so that no
man could get to the island, for ships and voyages were not yet heard of. He himself, as he was a god, found no difficulty in making special
arrangements for the centre island, bringing two streams of water under the earth, which he caused to ascend as springs, one of warm water and the
other of cold, and making every variety of food to spring up abundantly in the earth. He also begat and brought up five pairs of male children,
dividing the island of Atlantis into ten portions : he gave to the first-born of the eldest pair his mother's dwelling and the surrounding allotment,
which was the largest and best, and made him king over the rest ; the others he made princes, and gave them rule over many men and a large
territory. And he named them all : the eldest, who was king, he named Atlas, and from him the whole island and the ocean received the name of
Atlantic. To his twin brother, who was born after him, and obtained as his lot the extremity of the island toward the Pillars of Heracles, as far as the
country which is still called the region of Gades in that part of the world, he gave the name which in the Hellenic language is Eumelus, in the
language of the country which is named agter him, Gadeirus. Of the second pair of twins, he called one Ampheres and the other Evaemon. To the
third pair of twins he gave the name Mneseus to the elder, and Autochthon to the one who followed him. Of the fourth pair of twins he called the
elder Elasippus and the younger Mestor. And of the fifth pair he gave to the elder the name of Azaes, and to the younger Diaprepes. All these and
their descendants were the inhabitants and rulers of divers islands in the open sea ; and also, as has been already said, they held sway in the other
direction over the country within the Pillars as far as Egypt and Tyrrhenia. Now Atlas had a numerous and honorable family, and hil eldest branch
always retained the kingdom, which the eldest son handed on to his eldest for many generations ; and they had such an amount of wealth as was
never before possessed by kings and potentates, and is not likely ever to be again, and they were furnished with everything which they could have,
both in city and country. For, because of the greatness of their empire, many things were brought to them from foreign countries, and the island itself
provided much of what was required by them for the uses of life. In the first place, they dug out of the earth whatever was to be found there, mineral
as well as metal, and that which is now only a name, and was then something more than a name - orichaleum - was dug out of the earth in many
parts of the island, and, with the exception of gold, was esteemed the most precious of metals among the men of those days. There was an abundance
of wood for carpenters' work, and sufficient maintenance for tame and wild animals. Morever, there were a great number of elephants in the island,
and there was provision for animals of every kind, both for those which live lakes and marshes and rivers, and also for those which live in mountains
and on plains, and therefore for the animal which is the largest and most voracious of them. Also, whatever fragrant things there are in the earth,
whether roots, or herbage, or woods, or distilling drops of flowers or fruits, grew and thrived in that land ; and again, the cultivated fruit of the earth,
both the dry edible fruit and other species of food, which we call by the general name of legumes, and the fruits having a hard rind, affording drinks,
and meats, and ointments, and good store of chestnuts and the like, which may be used to play with, and are fruits which spoil with keeping - and the
pleasant kinds of dessert which console us after dinner, when we are full and tired of eating - all these that sacred island lying beneath the sun
brought forth fair and wondrous in infinite abundance.
All these things they received from the earth, and they employed themselves in constructing their temples, and palaces, and harbors, and docks ;
and they arranged the whole country in the following manner : First of all they bridged over the zones of sea which surrounded the ancient
metropolis, and made a passage into and out of the Royal Palace ; and then they began to build the palace in the habitation of the god and of their
ancestors. This they continued to ornament in successive generations, every king surpassing the one who came before him to the utmost of his
power, until they made the building a marvel to behold for size and beauty. And, beginning from the sea, they dug a canal three hundred feet in
width and one hundred feet in depth, and fifty stadia in length, which they carried through to the outermost zone, making a passage from the sea up
to this, which became a harbor, and leaving an opening sufficient to enable the largest vessels to find ingress. Moreover, they divided the zones of
land which parted the zones of sea, constructing bridges of such a width as would leave a passage for a single trireme to pass out of one into another,
and roofed them over ; and there was a way underneath for the ships, for the banks of the zones were raised considerably above the water. Now the
largest of the zones into which a passage was cut from the sea was three stadia in breadth, and the zone of land which came next of equal breadth ;
but the next two, as well the zone of water as of land, were two stadia, and the one which surrounded the central island was a stadium only in width.
The island in which the palace was situated had a diameter of five stadia. This, and the zones and the bridge, which was the sixth part of a stadium in
width, they surrounded by a stone wall, on either side placing towers, and gates on the bridges where the sea passed in. The stone which was used in
the work they quarried from underneath the centre island and from underneath the zones, on the outer as well as the inner side. One kind of stone
was white, another black, and a third red ; and, as they quarried, they at the same time hollowed out docks double within, having roofs formed out of
the native rock. Some of their buildings were simple, but in others they put together different stones, which they intermingled for the sake of
ornament, to be a natural source of delight. The entire circuit of the wall which went round the outermost one they covered with a coating of brass,
and the circuit of the next wall they coated with tin, and the third, which encompassed the citadel, flashed with the red light of orichaleum. The
palaces in the interior of the citadel were constructed in this wise : In the centre was a holy temple dedicated to Cleito and Poseidon, which remained
inaccessible, and was surrounded by an enclosure of gold ; this was the spot in which they originally begat the race of the ten princes, and thither
they annually brought the fruits of the earth in their season from all the ten portions, and performed sacrifices to each of them. Here, too, was
Poseidon's own temple, of a stadium in length and half a stadium in width, and of a proportionate height, having a sort of barbaric splendor. All the
outside of the temple, with the exception of the pinnacles, they covered with silver, and the pinnacles with gold. In the interior of the temple the roof
was of ivory, adorned everywhere with gold and silver, and orichalcum ; all the other parts of the walls and pillars and floor they lined with
orichalcum. In the temple, they placed statues of gold : there was the god himself standing in a chariot - the charioteer of six winged horses - and of
such a size that he touched the roof of the building with his head ; around him there were a hundred Nereids riding on dolphins, for such was thought
to be the number of them in that day. There were also in the interior of the temple other images which had been dedicated by private individuals.
And around the temple on the outside were placed statues of gold of all the ten kings and of their wives ; and there were many other great offerings,
both of kings and of private individuals, coming both from the city itself and the foreign cities over which they held sway. There was an altar, too,
which in size and workmanship corresponded to the rest of the work, and there were palaces in like manner which answered to the greatness of the
kingdom and the glory of the temple.
" In the next place, they used fountains both of cold and hot springs ; these were very abundant, and both kinds wonderfully adapted to use by
reason of the sweetness and excellence of their waters. They constructed buildings about them, and planted suitable trees ; also cisterns, some open
to the heaven, others which they roofed over, to be used in winter as warm baths : there were the king's baths, and the baths of private persons, which
were kept apart ; also separate baths for women, and others again for horses and cattle, and to them they gave as much adornment as was suitable for
them. The water which ran off they carried, some to the grove of Poseidon, where were growing all manner of trees of wonderful height and beauty,
owing to the excellence of the soil ; the remainder was conveyed by aqueducts which passed over the bridges to the outer circles and there were
many temples built and dedicated to many gods ; also gardens and places of exercise, some for men, and some set apart for horses, in both of the two
islands formed by the zones ; and in the centre of the larger of the two there was a race-course of a stadium in width, and in length allowed to extend
all round the island, for horses to race in. Also there were guard-houses at intervals for the body-guard, the more trusted of whom had their duties
appointed to them in the lesser zone, which was nearer the Acropolis ; while the most trusted of all had houses given them within the citadel, and
about the persons of the kings. The docks were full of triremes and naval stores, and all things were quite ready for use. Enough of the plan of the
royal palace. Crossing the outer harbors, which were three in number, you would come to a wall which began at the sea and went all round : this was
everywhere distant fifty stadia from the largest zone and harbor, and enclosed the whole, meeting at the mouth of the channel toward the sea. The
entire area was densely crowded with habitations ; and the canal and the largest of the harbors were full of vessels and merchants coming from all
parts, who, from their numbers, kept up a multitudinous sound of human voices and din of all sorts night and day.
I have repeated his descriptions of the city and the parts about the ancient palace nearly as he gave them, and now I must endeavor to describe the
nature and arrangement of the rest of the country. The whole country was described as being very lofty and precipitous on the side of the sea, but the
country immediately about and surrounding the city was a level plain, itself surrounded by mountains which descended toward the sea ; it was
smooth and even, but of an oblong shape, extending in one direction three thousand stadia, and going up the country from the sea through the center
of the island two thousand stadia ; the whole region of the island lies toward the south, and is sheltered from the north. The surrounding mountains
he celebrated for their number and size and beauty, in which they exceeded all that are now to be seen anywhere ; having in them also many wealthy
inhabited villages, and rivers and lakes, and meadows supplying food enough for every animal, wild or tame, and wood of various sorts, abundant
for every kind of work. I will now describe the plain, which had been cultivated during many ages by many generations of kings. It was rectangular,
and for the most part straight and oblong ; and what it wanted of the straight line followed the line of the circular ditch. The depth and width and
length of this ditch were incredible, and gave the impression that such a work, in addition to so many other works, could hardly have been wrought
by the hand of man. But I must say what I have heard. It was excavated to the depth of a hundred feet, and its breadth was a stadium everywhere ; it
was carried round the whole of the plain, and was ten thousand stadia in length. It received the streams which came down from the mountains, and
winding round the plain, and touching the city at various points, was there let off into the sea. From above, likewise, straight canals of a hundred feet
in width were cut into the plain, and again let off into the ditch, toward the sea ; these canals were at intervals of a hundred stadia, and by them they
brought down the wood from the mountains to the city, and conveyed the fruits of the earth in ships, cutting transverse passages from one canal into
another, and to the city. Twice in the year they gathered the fruits of the earth - in winter having the benefit of the rains, and in summer introducing
the water of the canals. As to the population, each of the lots in the plain had an appointed chief of men who were fit for military service, and the
size of the lot was to be a square of ten stadia each way, and the total number of all the lots was sixty thousand.
" And of the inhabitants of the mountains and of the rest of the country there was also a vast multitude having leaders, to whom they were assigned
according to their dwellings and villages. The leader was required to furnish for the war the sixth portion of a war-chariot, so as to make up a total of
ten thousand chariots ; also two horses and riders upon them, and a light chariot without a seat, accompanied by a fighting man on foot carrying a
small shield, and having a charioteer mounted to guide the horses ; also, he was about to furnish two heavy-armed men, two archers, two slingers,
three stone-shooters, and three javelin men, who were skirmishers, and four sailors to make up a complement of twelve hundred ships. Such was the
order of war in the royal city - that of the other nine governments was different in each of them, and would be wearisome to narrate. As to offices
and honors, the following was the arrangement from the first : Each of the ten kings, in his own division and in his own city, had the absolute control
of the citizens, and in many cases of the laws, punishing and slaying whomsoever he would.
" Now the relations of their governments to one another were regulated by the injuctions of Poseidon as the law had handed them down. These
were inscribed by the first men on a column of orichaleum, which was situated in the middle of the island, at the temple of Poseidon, whither the
people were gathered together every fifth and sixth years alternately, thus giving equal honor to the odd and to the even number. And when they
were gathered together they consulted about public affairs, and inquired if any one had transgressed in anything, and passed judgment on him
accordingly - and before they passed judgment they gave their pledges to one another in this wise : There were bulls who had the range of the temple
of Poseidon ; and the ten who were left alone in the temple, after they had offered prayers to the gods that they might take the sacrifices which were
acceptable to them, hunted the bulls without weapons, but with staves and nooses ; and the bull which they caught they led up to the column ; the
victim was then struck on the head by them, and slain over the sacred inscription. Now on the column, besides the law, there was inscribed an oath
invoking mighty curses on the disobedient. When, therefore, after offering sacrifice according to their customs, they had burnt the limbs of the bull,
they mingled a cup and cast in a clot of blood for each of them ; the rest of the victim they took to the fire, after having made a purification of the
column all round. Then they drew from the cup in golden vessels, and, pouring a libation on the fire, they swore that they would judge according to
the laws on the column, and would punish any one who had previously transgressed, and that for the future they would not, if they could help,
transgress any of the inscriptions, and would not command or obey any ruler who commanded them to act otherwise than according to the laws of
their father Poseidon. This was the prayer which each of them offered up for himself and for his family, at the same time drinking, and dedicating the
vessel in the temple of the god ; and, after spending some necessary time at supper, when darkness came on and the fire about the sacrifice was cool,
all of them put on most beautiful azure robes, and, sitting on the ground at night near the embers of the sacrifices on which they had sworn, and
extinguishing all the fire about the temple, they received and gave judgment, if any of them had any accusation to bring against any one ; and, when
they had given judgment, at daybreak they wrote down their sentences on a golden tablet, and deposited them as memorials with their robes. There
were many special laws which the several kings had inscribed about the temples, but the most important was the following : That they were not to
take up arms against one another, and they were all to come to the rescue if any one in any city attempted to overthrow the royal house. Like their
ancestors, they were to deliberate in common about war and other matters, giving the supremacy to the family of Atlas ; and the king was not to have
the power of life and death over any of his kinsmen, unless he had the assent of the majority of the ten kings.
" Such was the vast power which the god settled in the lost island of Atlantis ; and this he afterward directed against our land on the following
pretext, as traditions tell : For many generations, as long as the divine nature lasted in them, they were obedient to the laws, and well-affectioned
toward the gods, who were their kinsmen ; for they possessed true and in every way great spirits, practising gentleness and wisdom in the various
chances of life, and thinking lightly on the possession of gold and other property, which seemed only a burden to them ; neither were they
intoxicated by luxury ; nor did wealth deprive them of their self-control ; but they were sober, and saw clearly that all these goods are increased by
virtuous friendship with one another, and that excessive zeal for them, and honor of them, the good of them is lost, and friendship perishes with
them.
" By such reflections, and by the continuance in them of a divine nature, all that which we have described waxed and increased in them ; but when
this divine portion began to fade away in them, and became diluted too often, and with too much of the mortal admixture, and the human nature got
the upper-hand, then, they being unable to bear their fortune, became unseemly, and to him who had an eye to see, they began to appear base, and
had lost the fairest of their precious gifts ; but to those who had no eye to see the true happiness, they still appeared glorious and blessed at the very
time when they were filled with unrighteous avarice and power. Zeus, the god perceiving that an honorable race was in a most wretched state, and
wanting to inflict punishment on them, that they might be chastened and improved, collected all the gods into his most holy habitation, which, being
placed in the centre of the world, sees all things that partake of generation. And when he had called them together he spake as follows:"….(Here

What you have just read is an historical account of a civilization that existed long ago. This is not some fairy tale of gods and goddesses with
miraculous powers and strange creatures. Plato's story is just this, a story of the history of a civilization that existed before a great cataclysm came
and destroyed it. What we hear in myths and legends about Greek and Phoenician gods and goddesses are in fact stories about this lost civilization
that have changed and evolved somewhat from the more authentic story that exists in Plato's narrative.
We now have to look to other sources, through legends, histories, and archaeology, to examine the existence of this almost unimaginable continent
of Atlantis, we then can either confirm or refute Plato's story.

Ignatius Donnelly writes, in a book called, "Atlantis, The Antediluvian World", first published in 1882, See Resources page, the first and foremost
best compilation of histories, legends and geological information in one book. I urge everyone to obtain a copy of this book for reference purposes.
He shows the common origin of the American Indian and Central American Peoples in common with Egyptian historical origins. The cultures of
ancient Egypt and the Central and South American Indian cultures are so similar that there has to be a common origin of both. Both sides have the
common use of a 365 day calendar, the practice of embalming, pyramid building, and legends of a Flood. I Believe that both cultures originated in
Atlantis and spread east and west into the America's and African continent.

Next I want to look at the common sources of language between the Ancient Americans and the Ancient Egyptians. The early American Indians in
eastern Canada and North East U.S. held a use of picture words very much like the Egyptian Hieroglyphics. These American hieroglyphics are so
similar to the more cursive Egyptian hieratic writing that there must have been a common source. The book: America B.C., by Barry Fell, is a
fascinating and informative book and I recommend everyone read it. We learn that the Wabanaki Indians have, for all known time, used a form of
hieroglyphics called the Micmac. The Micmac writing is almost identical to the Egyptian hieratic writing. There was a common source of both, or at
least in the distant past, there were Egyptians that visited these Indians and gave to them this form of writing. It seems to me, that if it was only a
visit, then any kind of picture language that they left them wouldn't eventually evolve into a language that they all knew and used. It had to be
something that was used widely and known by all adults and passed on to the children from the long ages past. It seems more likely that if Atlantis
existed, and had worldwide influence, as is supposed, then the peoples on both sides of the Atlantic would be of the remnants of that great island and
would take with them the language used during the existence of Atlantis. Hence we have both Egyptian and American peoples using the same or
similar languages and writing systems.

There are similar names to the cities of Asia Minor and Central America. These cities were already named when the first European explorer's
arrived.

The similarities in the languages and culture of these peoples on opposite sides of the Atlantic are too close to have been by mere coincidence,
these peoples have a common origin. Because of the subject of Atlantis being studied by pseudo scientist's and cultist's, most real scientists and
archaeologists will avoid the subject altogether. This should not be done. Just because a few "wacko's" are interested in Atlantis, that is no good
reason for true scholars to avoid it.

In the November 1948 issue of Scientist Digest, an article reviews the best of Donnelly's arguments on Atlantis. It covers the existence of terrain
feature that are similar to those on land. There are mountains, valleys, trenches and holes resembling rivers and lakes. Interesting facts about how
only a slight warping of the earth's crust would cause large areas of the ocean floor to rise above the surface and other area's to subside.

In 1898, a crew of a ship that was laying down a transatlantic cable, was searching for a cable that had broken, with grappling hooks. They had lost
the cable about 2 miles deep. The rocky and jagged nature of the ocean floor made this task difficult. They had to clean these hooks frequently. The
substance that was cleaned from these hooks was studied. Here is a quote from an article. "These pieces of matter were found, on microscopic
examination, to be lava, lava which must have solidified in the open atmosphere because of it's vitreous structure (lava formed in water is a
crystalline form). Lava decomposes quickly, approx 15,000 years, this land had to be above sea level in the only recent past. As interesting as this is,
also noteworthy is the reason the cable broke to begin with. It was sheared off because the ocean floor had thrust upward 4000 feet.

In 1957, R.W.Kolbe (Science, vol 126, pp1053-1056) reports on the investigation of a deep sea core taken at the depth of 2 miles in the mid-
Atlantic submarine ridge. He finds exclusively fresh water plants (diatoms) in the core taken indicates that this area was once above sea level.
O. Mellis, in 1958, did a study of the origins of the deep-sea sands in the Atlantic Ocean. The results of his investigation was that the sands of the
Romanche Deep and many other areas have their origins from the weathering of parts of the mid-Atlantic ridge when it was once above sea level.
Beach sands are produced on the coastlines not in deep ocean water. There are beach sands in many places under the ocean that shouldn't be there.
In 1959 during a hydrographic survey by the U.S.Coast and Geodetic survey found sink holes up to 1/2 mile diameter and 500 feet deep in 900 feet
deep ocean waters 14 miles offshore of the Florida Key's. They concluded that these once were fresh water lakes in an area of land that had sunken
beneath the waves.
One of the best arguments about the Mid-Atlantic Ridge being once above sea level came from one Rene' Malaise in "Ocean Bottom investigations
and Their Bearings on Geology". (Mar-April 1957) in Geologiska Foreningens I Stockholm Forhandlingar : Malise states that many of the terrain
features of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, particularly the canyons, could not have been created by the underwater currents , but had to be formed when the
land was above the sea level. He covers ocean currents and their effect on ice that once covered Europe and America. He also discusses flint points
found in New Mexico compared to those found in Morocco and France. They, being so similar and both dating to 25 Thousand Years old, must have
had a common origin. Malaise believes that the users of the points would have migrated east and west from Atlantis.
These areas that we have just discussed, does not in themselves prove the existence of Atlantis. They do, however, seem to impress on the reader
the fact that, at a point in history from 12 to 15 thousand years ago, in the middle of the Atlantic, existed an island, very large, with mountains,
valley's, rivers and lakes. This island, if it existed, would be the perfect place for the Garden of Eden. God wouldn't have to keep Angels, with
flaming swords, guarding the entrance of the Garden. If it is underwater then no one could be tempted to look for, or enter it.

You can argue yourselves in a circle confirming or denying the existence of Atlantis. There is, however, much more evidence.
There are underwater roads, buildings, and pyramids off the coast of Bimini. There are underwater megalithic sites all over the Atlantic ocean
and remain unexplainable, thus far. There is a staircase carved into the continental shelf off the coast of Puerto-Rico, that descends to a once
lower level of the ocean. Science now has determined that the ocean was at a lower level at about 10,000 BC or about 12,000 years ago. A diver
found one of the pyramids off the coast of Bimini island, went down to it and saw an opening halfway up. There was green glowing water
rushing into the opening. At the bottom the water was coming back out of another opening. He went inside. Once inside he found a pair of
metallic hands holding a spherical crystal. The crystal has many pyramidal shapes inside it. He loosed the crystal from the hands and then
decided it was time to leave. He still has the crystal and many have studied it. There is a strange sensation when holding it. These are only a few
of the many examples of unexplainable things that prove that there were civilizations existing prior to 12,000 ago. (excerpt taken from "In the

More Details.

There is an ancient Indian record that is about 1500 years old. This document was copied from more ancient documents. This document refers to an
ancient civilization that existed long before this record was written. The interesting thing about it is that it refers to power that was used and a
thunder rock with which the people used to soar across the sky. There are legends that refer to a power grid that covers the world. This planetary grid
follows the Ley lines that are found in various placed around the world. The ancients that used this grid could travel using this power. Some of the
merging points in this grid exist at the Great Pyramid, Stonehenge. the Bermuda Triangle area, and many other important sites that have monuments
and shrines built there.

The existence of Ley lines across Europe, across Peru and other areas indicates a common source, creation and use. Due to the efforts of
researchers, namely, the Global Mapping Project by Governor's State University, in Illinois, and the Dragon Project in Britain, it is now affirmed that
practically all of the ancient sacred sites, settlements, cities, pyramids, obelisks, temples, and monuments of antiquity, were grid-oriented, user-
friendly, and cosmos-related.

There are also giant carvings of animals and figures in the Nazca desert in Peru and other areas of the world. They can only be seen from the air
and without aircraft would be almost impossible to construct. If there were aircraft or there was a canopy of water above, as the bible indicates, then
like a giant mirror reflecting their image, the construction crew could see their work progress, or from the height's of their flying crafts the work
could be supervised.

 The amazing Indian Mound builders in the Mississippi Valley area, are a wonder in themselves. The Hopi Indians have in their legends a story
about a Great White brother. This story has an interesting plot. The Great White brother visited them and gave to them a stone tablet with God's laws
written on it. He taught them and when he left he told them that one day he would return with the other tablet and when they, the tablets, are joined
together there would be worldwide peace. This story was told generation to generation and they eagerly awaited his return. They were ripe for the
picking when the Spanish Conquistadors came. They were received openly, to the demise of their peoples. The Spanish conquerors spread disease
and famine to this innocent people.

The Dogon tribe in Africa holds in their religion a knowledge that we have only recently discovered. Their religious ceremonial worship points to
a star, Sirius B. Sirius B is the companion star to Sirius A. Sirius A is the brightest star in the heaven and, in the meaning of it's name, points to a
Savior. Jesus, in the Gospel message that is told in the stars, is placed here. Check out my God's message in the Stars letter. Sirius B represents the
church, the true followers of Christ. Sirius B is a white dwarf star. It cannot be seen with the naked eye. The amazing thing about this Dogon tribe is
that they new it existed. They also knew that it has a 50 year orbit. They even knew it had an elliptical, not a circular orbit. It seems impossible for
this African tribe to know what they do about this invisible star. When inquired about where they learned this information, they reply that it was
taught to them from peoples across the ocean, from the "Land of the Fishes". It had been passed down from generation to generation and is central to
their religious belief. Someone, way back when, was surprisingly intelligent. Their indication, was that somewhere out in the Atlantic, is where these
peoples came from that imparted this knowledge to them.

It has been recognized and affirmed by most learned people, that this world has been through changes in geology. More specifically, in that, areas
of lands that we now have, were at one time under the ocean. Also recognized is the fact that areas that are now underwater at one time have been
above the sea levels. It is known that there was an ice age that ended about 12,000 years ago. Sea levels rose as the large glaciers that covered the
north hemisphere melted. There were floods engulfing the coastal lands that amounted to about a 600 feet change in the sea level. It would engulf
huge areas of land that are now totally covered by water.
Almost all races and tribes worldwide, carry vivid stories of universal floods and worldwide destruction. Most have common stories about one
survivor, his family, and animals, being saved from the worldwide destruction. The similarities of these stories with the story of Noah and his family
in the bible, seem uncanny. With legends so specific, across the world, along with current archaeology discoveries, this universal catastrophe most
definitely did occur. There was a worldwide flood, earthquakes and destruction, ending the last ice age, causing the rising and falling of lands and
the rising of the sea level some 600 feet.

I want to delve now, into the subject of the Bermuda Triangle, the Devil's Triangle. This area of ocean, in the Western Atlantic, off the Southeast
coast of the United States, forms what has been called a triangle. This area extends from Bermuda in the north to Florida then east to a point through
the Bahamas's past Puerto Rico to about 40 degrees west longitude and then back to Bermuda. This area is known to be the place of some of the
most disturbing and mysterious events to ever be documented in world history. Since 1945 there have been more than 100 planes and ships totally
disappear with more than 1000 lives being lost to something we know very little about. There has been no evidence, no bodies, no wreckage, no oil
slicks, no evidence at all to tell us what happened. This area of ocean has been travelled by many with no problems occurring whatsoever. It,
however, has also been the cause of many electrical and magnetic anomalies. Compasses go spinning, electrical systems go dead, and strange thick
fogs appear. There are waters that glow white for no reason. Columbus even reported about these strange glowing waters when he first found the
America's. I urge everyone to read about these disappearances. They are well documented and information is abundant. I don't want to go into many
of these instances, for the information is available. Please check out my resources page for books on this subject. I want to dive into other aspects of
this area that may shed light on the events that have occurred in this area. From military planes and ships, to merchant ships and even passenger
airliners. This area of ocean has been the last place that thousands of people have visited before disappearing. There has been found, on occasion,
ships that are totally ocean worthy, with their crews missing, leaving at times only a dog, cat or bird on the ship. There has occurred instances of a
ship being in tow. A mysterious fog was engulfing them and suddenly the boat in tow was being pulled under water instantly. The captain, who was
asleep, was awakened by water engulfing him. He grabbed a floatation device and escaped the ship that was already deep under the water's surface.
He made it to the surface, and the towing ship, which had to cut the tow line, came back and rescued him. They told tales of a fog that seemed to
engulf the ship in tow and suddenly it was pulled down. The stories and disappearances occurring in this area of ocean are abundant, and proves
itself very interesting reading.

Not only do we find, in the memories and legends of many cultures, the indications of terrible destructions befalling the earth, but also in the many
physical evidences of rising, sinking, and upward thrusting of the earth on land and on the ocean floors. For example, there are the sandy beaches
under thousands of feet of ocean around the Azores Islands, and the upward thrusting of beaches in Greenland, Peru, and even the coastline of
California. The Andes mountains have only recently, geologically speaking, been thrust upwards and even parts of South America have fallen into
the depth's of the ocean deep. These upheavals in the earth, are what most likely caused the glaciers, that covered most of the northern hemisphere,
to melt away, which in turn raised the ocean level hundreds of feet and flooded lands in the Atlantic. The floods, along with it's, Atlantis's, sinking,
caused a once flourishing civilization to be eliminated almost instantly, leaving isolated islands with simple native peoples that have a tale of
destruction to tell that seems to be only legends or stories.

Now lets take a look at some physical evidence that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that at one time, around 10 to 12,000 B.C., in the Atlantic
Ocean east from the coast of America, north of the Northeast area of South America, and West of Europe and Africa, there existed a series of large
islands and a continent sized island that was inhabited by an intelligent and advanced civilization.
First, here is a list of lands that were at once inundated with ocean: Areas of the Mediterranean. Land bridges from Sicily to Italy, and from Africa
to Gibraltar. The plateaus around the Azores and the Canaries. The Madeira islands. The shelves of France, Ireland, Spain and Africa. The North and
South America's continental shelves that cover a huge area. The Bahamian Banks and areas around them covering thousands of square miles. Also in
the middle of the Atlantic Ocean both the North Atlantic Ridge and the Azores-Gibraltar Ridge. There is abundant proof that these lands were above
sea level.
Parts of Alaska, Canada, and Northern Siberia are covered completely with the bones of great animals that suddenly perished. Frozen mammoth's
with tropical vegetation in their mouth's and stomach's were found. This indicates a sudden freeze and climate change. Off the coast of Georgia we
find a huge elephant graveyard. The same date period 10-11,000 years old. The whole northern hemisphere underwent a cataclysmic upheaval
ending the last glacial period and when land masses in the Atlantic sank as well as the oceans rising. Every investigation of the suspect areas in the
Atlantic, end up proving that these areas were above the ocean level before 12,000 years ago. Along the Atlantic Ridge at a depth of 12,000 feet,
skeletons of fresh water diatoms were dug up that were proven to have been formed in fresh water lakes and were 10-12,000 years old.

Plato's account of Atlantis seems to collaborate the time frame of around 12,000 years ago, when Atlantis met it's fate. Dates tend to be suspect
when derived from legends or tales. But Plato's story tends to impress it's authenticity to me, when there are other physical proof's backing up the
same specific time period. Still there are other indications of the truth of what happened. I've mentioned the sandy beaches that had to be formed
above the surface yet reside thousands of feet below. There are also deep river canyons that follow current rivers as they poured out into the Atlantic.
The Hudson and the Delaware River canyons proceed out into the Atlantic for hundreds of miles. This is impossible to have occurred, except above
sea level. Other river canyons duplicate this, in like manner, from European, African, and South American rivers.
Perhaps though, the most intriguing things in our study, are the many roads, buildings, causeways and walls that are being found, on a fairly regular
basis, off the coasts of Western Europe, South Africa, South America, and the South Eastern coast of North America. Here we find stone roads,
walls and buildings off the coast of Honduras and the Yucatan, leading out to some unknown place, more deeply buried in the ocean. There is even a
thirty foot high and one-hundred mile long sea wall that leads out into the ocean from Venezuela near the mouth of the Orinoco river. Also
interesting, is the find of a staircase, carved into the continental shelf off the coast of Puerto-Rico, leading down to a once lower level of the ocean.
It is, however, on the Bahamian Plateau that things are found that have proven to be of worthwhile interest and study.

Edgar Cayce, the amazing clairvoyant of the first half of the 20th century, gave readings that healed thousands. He also gave readings of a different
nature. His "Life Readings" revealed past lives, incarnations in Egypt, Palestine, and Atlantis. Yes, this man with only a 6th grade education, a
Baptist Sunday school teacher and photographer, gave information in his "sleeping" state that he couldn't know of, or even believe in, in his normal
awake state. He gave such detailed, scientific, medically perfect, and ancient knowledge, in his readings, that he had to be in tune with a universal
knowledge bank, that is not of this world. His accuracy was perfect and only in the event of someone seeking, "selfishly", information from him did
he seem to be inaccurate. He also spoke prophesies, and the ones regarding Atlantis are of interest in our study. Cayce died in 1945 but he did not
leave us empty handed. He had his readings compiled, some 15,000 of them, into researchable data. Anyone can search these readings and I urge
everyone to read what he has to say. When he is speaking, it appears that God is speaking through him. The organization that keeps his records is:
The Association for Research and Enlightenment, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. They have a web site and even offer the complete readings with a
searchable database on CD. I use it, and love it's ease of use. I don't agree with the "New Age" belief's and other subjects that the Association sells
and uses. Their ideals do not parallel Edgar Cayce's. I do, however, believe that every word that Edgar Cayce has spoken, that was recorded and
documented, is worthwhile and quite scriptural for us to use and research through.
Edgar Cayce prophesied in June 1940, "Poseidia will be among the first portions of Atlantis to rise again, expected in 68' or 69' not so far away."
Well guess what? With numerous finds on the Bahamian Banks beginning in 1968 and in 1969, Cayce seems to be right, again. In 1967, just before
these findings an enormous road was found off the Fla.-Ga. and South Carolina coast. This road was paved with a magnesium oxide and when
special wheels were put on the "Aluminaut", it proceeded down the road at depths reaching 3000 feet just like driving your car on any road, except
it was at the bottom of the ocean. The size of the paved surface leads one to believe it was man-made, just as the large tiled surface found around
Bimini by Dr. Bruce Heezen. Some of the formations in the Bahamas area weren't found on or above the ocean floor, but some were found several
feet under the sand. The color of the sea bottom and it's foliage gives searchers more clues to look for. Many of the objects that are found and
documented, may be there one day and the next day, due to tides and shifting sands, will disappear altogether. Remarkably, since 1968, the bottom
of the Bahamas's has risen considerably, revealing more areas almost daily. Dr. James Thorne, famous oceanographer and diver and skeptic of these
finds, observed a column holding up part of the Bimini Wall, and was convinced that these formations are man-made and from a considerably
advanced civilization. Another group of divers found an old Spanish Galleon anchor. As they checked it out and scratched the ground it was on,
found the ground to be a mosaic floor or terrace that once existed above sea level. The western part of the Atlantic where the Bahamian Banks are,
have been called, since Cayce's reading and subsequent findings in 1968, "the resting place of Atlantis". However Plato placed Atlantis west of the
Pillars of Heracles, Hercules. We must remind ourselves here, that there was one major island in Atlantis, and then other islands and settlements
leading to the continent to the west. This would place the Bimini finds, as the islands to the west, possibly governed by Posiedon, and the Island of
Atlantis would be found in the Azores and Canaries. These islands, the Azories and Canaries, are but the mountain peaks of the large island of
Atlantis. Interestingly, the rocks found around the Azores are of a Red, White, and Black kind. Plato states that these were the color of the rocks the
Atlantean's used to build with. Coincidence?, I think not.

Another point I want to cover in the Bimini area are of the Pyramids and Rectangular buildings that are found under the ocean. Several pyramidal
forms have been seen and documented in this area. I've written before about this. A diver found one of these pyramids and looking at it there were
two entrances to this pyramid. One high and one low. There was a green shining water rushing in the top and back out the bottom. The diver entered
into the top opening. Down in the shaft he found a pair of metallic hands holding a spherical crystal. He dislodged this crystal and decided it was
time to leave. Crystal power is used and studied today. The ancients used this in a different way. They created a power grid surrounding the earth,
and used this for a means of transportation, air, ground and under the oceans. There are power centers within sacred sites covering the globe.
Pyramids, Megalithic sites and sacred centers, were such that when these crystals are placed and used properly, they issued forth an energy with
sufficient power to be used for transportation and other life necessities. Egypt has interesting hieroglyphics with men holding what looks like huge
light bulbs, complete with filament and huge electrical cords connecting them. There are others that have pictures of what looks like very large
batteries or capacitors.

Ancient Hindu texts that were written around 1500 B.C., these had been copied from more ancient texts. Interestingly within these texts called,
"Mahabharata", are descriptions of flying craft, and rocket propulsion. They had detailed information on the principals of their construction. Another
ancient Indian text, the "Samarangana Sutradhara", we find the advantages and disadvantages of different types of aircraft. It refers to their
capabilities of ascent, cruising speed, and descent. Even covering a description of it's power source, Mercury. It refers to different materials used in
building. Different types of wood and light heat-absorbing metals suitable for construction. It also gives details on taking pictures of enemy planes,
determining the enemies approach patterns, ways to render their enemies unconscious, and how to destroy the enemy. Another Indian text, the
"Ramayana", shows text of flight and gives analysis of the earth, the coastlines of India, it covers everything that could be seen from their aircraft, a
mapping of the earth from the air. In this text it also covers a conversation in which someone tells of seeing the stars during the daytime, this being a
result of their ascent of their chariot and the height that it reached. It is amazing what we find out when we just look.
In Iraq and in other areas of the middle east have been found examples of dry-cell batteries. These are cylinders, lined with asphalt, contained
within jars, and equipped with an iron plug. All that was missing was an electrolyte. When an electrolyte was added, copper sulfate, these batteries
functioned perfectly. These were apparently used for electroplating metals, however if this kind of technology existed, then it makes one wonder
about the other advanced technology that was used and is now being discovered.
Pharaoh Thutmose III, pharaoh of the XVIII dynasty wrote of strange aircrafts. He writes in his annals, "In the year 22, the third month of winter,
the sixth hour of the day, the Scribes of the House of Life...noted that a circle of fire was coming from the sky...it's body was 1-rod long and 1-
rod wide...they laid themselves on their bellies...[then] went to Pharaoh to report it. His Majesty was meditating on what was happening
then...these things became more numerous in the sky than before...they shone more brightly than the shining sun and extended to the limits of
the four supports of heaven. The army of pharaoh looked on...with him in their midst. It was after the evening meal that these fire circles
ascended higher in the sky to the south. Pharaoh caused incense to be burned to reestablish peace in the land and ordered what had happened to
be written in the annals of the House of Life...so that it be remembered forever...

I believe that what the Pharaoh saw was one of the ancient ships that the Atlanteans or even that the Indians had and used. Powered by crystal that
rested in the Pyramids or "power houses", some now under water, or possibly powered by mercury as in the Indian texts, these flying machines
circled the globe. This may explain the UFO phenomenon completely. The existence of UFO's by now is beyond question. They, the UFO's, are
probably guilty of causing the mysterious crop circles, possibly trying to communicate with man. It remains a possibility that some residents of
Atlantis, survived with their technology intact, they could even be using the "inner space" of the oceans as well as the atmosphere and outer space to
exist and to keep an eye on us. I believe that who or what ever the UFO and Crop Circle phenomenon is brought to us by, they probably know
scripture and know that time is short until Jesus returns and their seeming increased activity is just them getting more active as they continue towards
whatever goal they may have. One very likely, and more probable deduction is, that the mysteries of the UFO's are demonic in nature and likewise
evil and something we need to be aware of yet keep away from. We need to see the devil and his henchmen for what they are, in order to keep our
shield of faith strong for Satan's fiery darts. He, Satan, would be the cause of any Atlantean attempt to take over the world. He gave them their
technology and enabled their destructive use of these powers that were in their possession. Their goal of world dominion is what led to their
destruction. God put a stop to them.
Interesting to note here is some of the Mayan finds and legends. Excavated from the Comalcalco Ruins, archaeologists found a tablet with a
calendar on it. It was written in Neopunic script which was the last phase of the Phoenician script and was used around the time of Christ and up to
the 3rd century A.D. The most remarkable thing to me is the fact that it utilizes a lunar year that exactly reproduces the Jewish civil calendar
beginning with the month of Tishri at the September equinox. Another fascinating discovery was at the Maya ruins at Coba. A tablet with pictures
that describe an escape from a cataclysm depicted by exploding volcanoes and collapsing temples. The Maya legends recount that their ancestors
came from a Great land in the Eastern sea, which was overcome by a cataclysm and sank beneath the waves. Amerindian traditions refer to this land
as Aztlan or Atlan and other similar names that, not-surprisingly, sound like Atlantis.

Other interesting finds both in Egypt and in the America's are proof's of a knowledge of "heavier than air flight". In Egypt have been found more
than a dozen "gliders". These at first were thought to be replica's of birds. They however possessed knowledge of both aerodynamics and lift
properties. The tails were vertical, unlike any bird, and their wings were shaped to provide lift. When thrown like a glider these relics from the past
performed admirably. Maybe under the sands of time, in Egypt, is preserved the actual full size aircraft that these scale models were made from. In
South America was found small golden toys. These toys were thought to be just that, "toys". However if you look closely at them they look more
like modern jet aircraft, rather than just a toy.

The thing that saddens me is the fact that the Spanish Conquistadors gathered every small golden artifact they could find and melted them down
into bars for easier trading. There is no telling the number of objects that they melted down that showed that the Ancient Maya people held a
knowledge far advanced from what we originally thought.

This Picture is of a "Candelabra", in the Andes this 595-foot figure is a mystery. Some have related it to the trinity or the tree of life.

This giant statue, found in a Mexican Cave, shows some fascinating evidence. It was originally constructed above sea level, evidence on it shows
that it was under the ocean for some time, and now it is again above the ocean level.

This ancient map, copied from earlier maps shows the bottom half of the world. The strange thing about it is that it shows Antarctica without the ice
cap. This couldn't have been done as the world now exists, the original map that this is just a copy from, had to have been made when the poles were
at different points on the globe.

Shown here is the giant megalithic Incan Ruins in Peru. The precision with which these massive stone works were constructed rivals that used in
the Great Pyramid. Some of these stones as big as 200 tons, were moved and placed with awesome ability.

These are some other giant carvings on the desert in Peru. On the left has been called a hummingbird and the one on the right a landingstrip. These
drawings on the desert cannot be comprehended on the ground. They continue even through earthy obstacles and resume on the other side.

What I have set out to do in this letter, is to prove to you, that, at a point in the distant past around 12,000 years ago, and prior to that time, an
ancient culture existed that was technologically advanced and inhabited what is now the Atlantic ocean. This Atlantis has left it's mark around the
globe. Ancient legends and pictures seem to collaborate this assumption. Newly discovered finds under the ocean seem to also collaborate this thesis.
To the Christian, this may seem to be a hard bite to swallow. It however does not have to be so. In my letter "In the Beginning", I discuss Genesis
and prove beyond a doubt that there was more than one creation, even more than two. I have proven that there is possibly eons of time between
Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. Plenty of time for any ancient culture to advance into what Atlantis came to be. If God had created a civilization prior to ours,
what is the big deal? That does not thwart anything in scripture, or any way in which God deals with us today. One thing that God does not want to
do is to raise a bunch of dumb "Puritanized" people, that try to put him in a box and that has to have their own idea of history, "just so", for their own
theology. God wants people to be aware, and learn of these truth's, that in the end will only prove that God is in control, and that he is the one that
causes the risings and eliminations of the empires that have been on the earth for all history. Keep the upward look and keep searching for all truth.
