Dispensationalists have taught that the kingdom was postponed until some future time because of Israels rejection. The opposition to Christ and the kingdom was prophesied in Psalm 2, and the conclusion is YET HAVE I SET MY KING UPON MY HOLY HILL OF ZION.

Psa.2:1-5
Why do the HEATHEN RAGE, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall LAUGH: the LORD shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. YET have I set MY KING upon my HOLY HILL of ZION.

Jesus is enthroned as king upon the HOLY HILL of ZION in spite of OPPOSITION from Israel and the heathen.

These verses are quoted by the church in the book of Acts.

Acts 4:24-28
And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is: Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ. For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.

The opposition to the kingdom did not POSTPONE the KINGDOM or DELAY IT. The LORD would laugh at the feeble attempts of men to stop his plan.

Herod, Pontius Pilate, the Gentiles, and Israel were a part of the opposition. In other word, Israel was not the only group that opposed Christ and the kingdom. The opposition to Christ and the Kingdom was in the DETERMINED COUNSEL of God. The Kingdom came in SPITE of the enemies of Christ. The dispensational teaching that the kingdom was postponed because of Israels rejection is unscriptural and robs many of the revelation of the PRESENT KINGDOM.

The sufferings of Christ were necessary for Christ to enter his kingdom. The Cross was necessary for redemption and salvation which are necessary components of the kingdom. Christ rebuked his disciples concerning his rejection and suffering. The problem was UNBELIEF.

Luke 24:25-27
Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have SUFFERED these things, and to ENTER into his GLORY? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

Christ had to suffer, be rejected, be crucified in order to enter his Kingdom. The rejection did not postpone the kingdom, but was necessary for the ESTABLISHMENT of the KINGDOM.

The KINGDOM CAME NOTWITHSTANDING

Luke 10:10-12
But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say, Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: NOTWITHSTANDING be ye sure of this, that the KINGDOM OF GOD is come NIGH unto you. But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.
