This short-sighted, selfish and non-constructive thinking is called Crab Mentality.
Crab mentality as narrated by Kane Lawless, is a term used colloquially referring
to a person trying to leave an underprivileged-life but is kept from doing so
because of other people who hold them back for they resent that person’s
success. It is an act of keeping others from getting what they want and not
wanting others to be successful.
Short-sighted unable to see things clearly unless they are relatively close to
the eyes.
Opinions: What opinions can you form based on what you found out?
AFFIRMATIVE: Crab mentality is a psychological thing and it’s profound
to most people the cure isn’t for everybody, and the situation really
differs from every person.
NEGATIVE: “We cannot change others but we can certainly make good
change for ourselves.” Yes, it is common to us Filipinos to have crab
mentality because of we have been using that since we have been
colonized by Japan and a writer Ninotchka Rosca which is a Filipino citizen
and graduated in U.P. invented the Crab in a bucket. it is impossible to
change others and we can’t dictate someone on how they will think and
act but if the change begins in ourselves eventually, we can change what
we have been entrench.

Argument 1: There is a cure for crab mentality.
How can you make sure it takes a good education and some
that those mentalities can mental level for one to know how to
effectively cure the crab realistically analyze and criticize the
mentality if not all will culture and traditions one has
respond, based on what experience and live with for the rest
you have mentioned, not all of his life. According to the Filipino
are paying attention to it? American Psychology, each of us in
this world has a power, power that
can solve any individual issues as well
as the crab mentality. Power, the
ability to change, influence others,
and receive what one desires.
