MEDICAL LABORATORY TECH. (MLT)
Medical laboratory technology is one of the most rapidly expanding health
care fields. As a medical laboratory technician, you will play an increasingly
important role in health care delivery. The MLT Program provides extensive
training, including a clinical internship with supervised work experience.
This qualifies graduates to run clinical tests required by physicians to make
life-affecting decisions in patient care. It is concerned with diagnosis,
treatment and prevention of diseases through the use of clinical laboratory
tests.

RADIO IMAGING TECH. (RIT)

Radio imaging technology is the art and science of producing medical
images using x-radiation. These images are used for routine diagnostic
needs or form part of complex investigations. Technologists produce
images for a radiologist's interpretation to aid in medical diagnoses. It is
not a hazardous occupation. The dangers of radiation are well
recognized and rigidly controlled. The conscientious technologist can
derive much personal satisfaction as a contributor to the success of the
health team and the well-being of the patient.

A career in radiologic technology can lead in many directions. They work in a large hospital, a suburban
outpatient clinic or a rural physician's office. They could specialize in dozens of clinical areas ranging from
prenatal care to orthopaedics. They could manage an entire radiology department, including its budget and
personnel. With additional education, they could become a radiologist assistant, expanding their capabilities
by serving as a radiologist extender.
OPTOMETRY
Optometry is an independent profession in eye care. Its practice includes a
complete examination of the visual system for the estimation of refractive
errors. It also covers the manufacturing, supply and fitting of spectacles,
contact lenses and other optical aids.
The day-to-day activities of an optometrist comprise Case Histories,
Refraction, Testing the Front and Back of the Eye, Colour Vision, Eye
Pressure etc.

and carrying out eye examinations in a high street optometrists, treating specific eye conditions in a hospital

with low vision or developing and fitting cutting-edge contact lenses for all kinds of eye conditions.

OPERATION THEATRE TECH.

Operation Theatre Technicians are allied healthcare professionals. Their
tasks include assisting Doctors in Surgery, arranging surgical instruments
before surgery, sterilizing instrumentation before surgery, cleaning
surgical instruments after surgery, carrying out Surgeons' commands
during surgery and taking care of anesthesia equipment.

Operation Theatres in hospitals, Emergency Care Departments as well as ICUs in hospitals are places where
OT Technicians are needed. Government as well as private sector job opportunities are available in front of OTT
professionals. For any operation theatre to function smoothly, OT Technicians are needed!
PHYSIOTHERAPY
A physiotherapist rehabilitates patients by helping them improve their
physical movement. They treat people who are injured or disabled in order
to recover full function and movement. It's both cure and prevention
focused, and requires in-depth anatomical and musculoskeletal knowledge.
Therapy usually covers:
1. Exercise 2. Massage 3. Stretching 4. Medication etc.
Physiotherapists are required to maintain close physical contact with their
patients; they must not shy away from such closeness, or be unwilling to
demonstrate exercise methodology. Compassion, empathy, friendliness, good communication and patience
are a must.
