ELD2243 TEACHING OF LITERATURE IN ESL CLASSROOM

ASSIGNMENTS (60%)

Lesson Plan Design (30 marks)

Individual

i. Select ONE (1) story of your choice and create 2 lesson plans:
o 1st lesson plan to teach PLOT.
o 2nd lesson plan to teach CHARACTERISATION.
o Set the level that you wish to teach (Year 2-5).
o Refer to the DSKP (Language Arts) to select the
o Each lesson should be 60 mins.
o Use at least ONE worksheet is WHILE STAGE.
o NO GAMES in WHILE STAGE. You can plan games in POST Stage.

ii. Create 3rd lesson plan to teach ONE (1) selected poem of your choice.
o Set the level that you wish to teach (Year 2-5).
o The lesson should be 60 mins.
o Use at least ONE worksheet is WHILE STAGE.
o NO GAMES in WHILE STAGE. You can plan games in POST Stage.

iii. Label and attach all the appendices of the lesson properly.
iv. ALL the 3 lesson plans need to be uploaded in the GOOGLE SITE.

Micro Teaching (30 marks)

Individual

i. Out of the 3 lesson plans prepared, you need to conduct 2 micro teaching sessions. You
need to either teach the PLOT or CHARACTERISATION lesson and POEM lesson.
ii. Each micro-teaching session is for an hour.
iii. You will be conducting the sessions within your google site members only.
iv. It is mandatory to record your micro teaching sessions. These recordings need to be
uploaded in the google site as well for assessment.
v. All group members need to provide peer assessment for each group members.
