CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSOR
DESCRIPTION
Centrifugal Compressors are used commonly in most process where gaseous fluids need to be
transported within process and also for pressure related processes. Centrifugal Compressors come
in various sizes and models but the fundamentals that drive the process of compression are the
same. Therefore it is important that those who work with such equipment and invloved in
equipment selection have basic understanding of the compression process and also good working
knowledge of the equipment. Regardless of years of plant operating experience, it is not a surprise
to know that most operators and engineers do not have good grasp of the equipment and how the
selection and design considerations are made during compressor selection for process operation.
This training provides brief fundamental knowledge about Centrifugal Compressors, and typical
design steps involved in selecting and sizing a Centrifugal Compressor for a given condition.
