CHECK LIST FOR LIFT SYSTEM

1.0 MOTOR ROOM

1.1 Motor Room Door

Check motor room door whether lock fitted and lockable

1.2 Wall/Floor
Check curbs around hole at shaft slab
Check floor cleanliness
Check roof, wall and floor for water leakage

1.3 Electricity/Ventilation
Check the ventilation system
Check the availability of socket outlet
Check labeling for main switches

1.4 Machine
Check the protection guards sheave cover
Check the anti jump bars
Check the floor markings at the hoisting ropes
Check lift marking at the lift machine

1.5 Roping
Check the rope clevis for locknuts and split pins
Check the anti-twist rope

1.6 Speed Governor

Check the governor rope

1.7 Controller
Check the lift marking at the controller

2.0 SHAFT AND PIT

2.1 Pit
Check pit for water and rubbish
Check dividing screens between adjoining shafts

2.2 Guide Rail

Check the guide rails and all shafts material

2.3 Landing Door

Check cleanliness of door sills and headers
Check the gaps between car lift and door frame
Check the self close door device
Check the landing entrance toe guards
Check the earthing of landing door headers

2.4 Landing Door and Indicator

Check landing buttons, indicators, gongs and arrows operation.
Check the availability of fireman switch complete with faceplate

2.5 Counterweight
Check the adjustment of guide shoes/rollers
Check the anti-jump bars
Check the diverter sheave hitch plate bolts fitted

3.0 LIFT CAR

3.1 Car Top

Check the socket at car top
Check the mechanical lock at trap door
Check the safety gear rods for locknuts
Check the car ventilation fan

3.2 For 2 : 1 Roping

Check the car top divertor sheave cover
Check the anti-jump bar at the car divertor sheave
Check the diverter sheave hitch plate bolts fitted

3.3 Car Inside

Check the emergency lights and fan
Check the operation of car call button, door opening and closing
button
Check the alarm button, reservation switch and fan switch
Check the light switch, overload indicator and buzzer

3.4 Car Sling and Car Bottom

Check the car sling
Check the compensation element under lift car
Check the car sill apron
Check the compensation device suspension element for
locknuts and split pins

3.5 Car Door

Check the cleanliness of door
Check the noise level and smoothness of the door operation
Check the gaps between car door and architrave
Check the door speed and operation

3.6 Car Safety Gear

Check the adjustment of safety gear

3.7 Overtravels
Check the distance of shafts end limits beyond the terminal level
Check the distance of buffers extension and buffers
Check the allowance of car overtravels

3.8 Miscellaneous
Check the free run of governor ropes in the lift shaft
Check the traveling cables for any obstruction in the lift shaft
Check the main ropes tensioned
Check the availability of pit lighting

4.0 SAFETY CIRCUIT

4.1 Motor Room
Check the stop button
Check the 1st governor switch, handwinding switch and Tacho
belt switch

4.2 Car
Check the stop button and car door contact
Check the safety gear switches and trap door switch

4.3 Shaft
Check the landing door locks
Check the final limits
Check the shaft end terminal slowdown limits

4.4 Pit
Check the stop switch and buffer switches
Check the governor slack rope switch
Check the compensation device switches
