ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Background:
With my father employed in international work, I was exposed to a wealth of cultural diversity from an early age. Travelling
the world-over with my family as he was frequently transferred from one country to the next, I saw more than enough galleries
and museums to convince me that my life calling was to be an Artist. Though my parents appreciated the arts dearly, my
father did not deem such an occupation to be a dependable career move and refused to finance any of my schooling to this
regard. It was while my family was living in Athens, Greece, I abandoned scholarship altogether, despite my father’s
insistence to pursue Law, and opted instead to follow my passion as an Artist. I found my way into the local art community,
and, like a sponge, absorbed whatever information and skills I could from those who would share their knowledge and craft. I
devoted an incredible amount of time learning about art, and soon came under the impression that what I required was more
“life experience”, with the assumption this would somehow “complete” me and make me a better Artist. My solution was to
set out and explore the “world” (mostly Europe) on my own. I picked up odd jobs here and there to pay my way, while
supplementing my income selling sketches and small acrylic paintings depicting the places and people I met on my travels. It
was by circumstance I was eventually drawn to Canada, where I lived in Toronto, Ontario, for just over a year before making
my way west to the small prairie city of Regina, Saskatchewan. Regina, which is where I currently reside, is a wonderful city,
rife with all the eccentricities and energies an Artist seeking inspiration could ever ask for. Below, under the heading Projects
& Exhibitions, I have included a list of all my activities and accomplishments since arriving in this remarkable city.
While I love to dabble in a variety of mediums and modes when creating art, I find my concepts are where my true strength
resides as an artist. The ideas and the execution of my projects are far more important to me than the techniques or skills
applied in making an actual piece, and evidence of this is often presented intentionally and quite obviously in my work.
Documenting audience response toward my work and much of the mystery found behind it is my ultimate objective.
