ASSIGNMENT 1

Instruction:
1. You can either submit the assignment individually or form a group of two (2)) to
submit one set of answer. If you choose the group mode, make sure all names and
student IDs are clearly written on the cover page.
2. Write your answer in pen only, except for the diagrams, where you may use pencil.
3. Submit only single PDF file.
4. Remember there is no plagiarism as specified by the Section 14 of the University
Student Handbook.
Submit to CN (Assignment tab) on/before 19th Feb 2021. Late submission will not be
considered.

Questions

1. Solve 𝑦 ′′ − 3𝑦 ′ + 2𝑦 = 𝑒 𝑥

2. A close circuit has a voltage source 𝑣(𝑡) = 100 sin 50𝑡 𝑉 , a 2 H inductor and 0.02 F
capacitor connected in series which give an equation

𝑑2𝑞
2 + 50𝑞 = 100 sin 10𝑡
𝑑𝑡 2

Determine the charge q(t) on the capacitor as a function of ω if the initial charge on the
capacitor and current are zero.
