Context
The auto-check tool is used to check OLT/ONU running status and configuration data.
The operation and maintenance engineers can remove the hidden faults according to the
checking result, ensuring the stable running of EPON system.
The auto-check tool contains both the server and client. The auto-check server is
an independent process. Starting or stopping the auto-check tool does not affect the
running of the NetNument N31 server. The auto-check server gets NE information from
the NetNumen N31 server database once it is started.
To use the auto-check tool to check the system, perform the following steps:
Steps
1. Open the .\netnumen\ums-svr\zxnm01\zxnm01-autocheck.par\boot\boo
tinfo.properties file in text mode, as shown in Figure 6-44.
6-36
Parameter Description
3. Run .\netnumen\tools\autocheck\bin\startAutoCheckServer.bat to
start the auto-check server program.
4. Run .\netnumen\tools\autocheck\bin\startAutoCheckClient.bat to
start the auto-check client. Type the auto-check server IP address in the pop-up
dialog box. The Auto Check Tool window appears, as shown in Figure 6-45.
6-37
Result
Auto-check is complete successfully.
6-38
Application Scenario
Use the Clear Alert Table tool to clear the alert logs before updating the NetNument N31
software version or installing the patch. The update time can be shortened.
Steps
1. Open the directory .\netnumen\tools\, which is the installation directory of the
NetNumen N31 system.
2. Run the batch file clearalert.bat to clear the alert logs. Figure 7-1 shows the
result.
7-1
Note:
In the Solaris operating system, you can run the clearalert.sh file under the same directory to clear
the alert logs.
Application Scenario
Use the Delete Temp File tool in the following application scenarios:
l The NetNumen N31 configuration file is modified due to the customized requirement.
l Large number of temporary files are copied to the destination directory when the
NetNumen N31 Client program is copied and installed.
l The patch is installed on the NetNumen N31 Server.
Steps
1. Exit relevant NetNumen N31 programs before using the Delete Temp File tool.
2. Open the directory .\netnumen\tools\, which is the installation directory of the
NetNumen N31 system.
3. Run the batch file del_tmp.bat to delete the temporary files. Figure 7-2 shows the
result.
7-2
Note:
In the Solaris operating system, you can run the del_tmp.sh file under the same directory to delete
the temporary files.
Application Scenario
When the quantity of NEs that the NetNumen N31 Server manages exceeds 5,000, the
internal NE link polling tool cannot satisfy the polling requirement. The external NE link
polling tool (LinkPoll) is used.
Note:
l Alarm that LinkPoll reports to OLT NE: The link communicating with OLT is broken.
l Alarm that LinkPoll reports to ONU NE: The link communicating with ONU is broken.
7-3
Steps
1. Log in to the NetNumen N31 Client.
2. In the NetNumen N31 Unified Management System window, choose Topology >
Poll Configuration to display the Auto Poll Task Setting window. Delete SnmpNode
task record. For detailed operations.
3. Exit the NetNumen N31 Client and relevant NetNumen N31 programs.
4. Open the directory .\netnumen\ums-svr\zxnm01\zxnm01-topo.par\.
Change the name of the file zxnm01-linkpollsvr-service.xml.bak to be
zxnm01-linkpollsvr-service.xml.
5. Use the Delete Temp File tool to delete the temporary files.
6. Start the NetNumen N31 Server and the NetNumen N31 Client.
7. Delete the “NE link is broken” alarm manually.
8. Open the directory .\netnumen\tools\linkpoll\bin\. Run the startLinkPoll file to
start LinkPoll.
Note:
In the Solaris operating system, you can run the startLinkPoll.sh file under the same direc-
tory to start LinkPoll.
Application Scenario
You can use the Modify ONU Names In Batch tool to modify ONU names in batch when
there are many ONUs in the network and it is necessary to name the ONUs according to
a naming rule.
Steps
1. Open the directory .\netnumen\tools\datamigrate\bin\, which is the
installation directory of the NetNumen N31 system.
2. Run the batch file runDataExport.bat to export the NE data, as shown in Figure
7-3.
7-4
3. Press any key to exit. Some xls files which contain NE information are generated
and saved in the directory .\netnumen\tools\datamigrate\bin\, as shown in
Figure 7-4.
Note:
The numbers in the xls files indicate the time when the file is generated. For example, the OnuEx
port20100607144650.xls file is generated at 14:46:50, on June, 7th, 2010.
4. Open an OnuExport*.xls file, in which * indicates the time when the file is
generated. The second Tab is “zxnm01.accesslayer.an.pon.onu”, as shown in Figure
7-5.
7-5
Col-
Name Remarks
umn
Modify the ONU name according to the naming rule and save the modification.
Note:
You can create an xls and set the second Tab as “zxnm01.accesslayer.an.pon.onu”, and then set
the value of each column according to the naming rule.
5. On Main Logical View, right-click an OLT NE and choose EPON Management >
More > SN Batch Import Config. The ONU Batch Import Config window appears,
as shown in Figure 7-6.
7-6
Application Scenario
Use the Fast Back Up and Restore NetNumen N31 Data tool to back up the NetNumen
N31 configuration data before updating the NetNumen N31 system. Use the tool to restore
the configuration data after update.
Steps
1. Open the directory .\netnumen\tools\resBackupUtil\.
2. Run the batch file resBackup.bat. Figure 7-7 shows the window.
7-7
Note:
In the Solaris operating system, you can run the resBackup.sh file under the same directory to
back up and restore the NetNumen N31 configuration data.
3. Select 1 to back up the NetNumen N31 configuration data. Select 2 to restore the
NetNumen N31 configuration data.
Note:
Application Scenario
The Get NetNumen N31 Server Running Information tool is used to collect the
NetNumen N31 Server running information for routine maintenance or trouleshooting,
which helps the maintenance engineers to locate the fault.
7-8
Steps
Get NetNumen N31 logs locally at Server.
1. Open the directory .\netnumen\tools\.
2. Run the batch file zip_log.bat to get the NetNumen N31 Server running
information.
Note:
In the Solaris operating system, you can run the zip_log.sh file under the same directory to get
the NetNumen N31 Server running information.
Note:
In the Solaris operating system, you can run the GetNmsServerlog.sh file under the same
directory to get the NetNumen N31 Server running information.
3. Type the IP address of the NetNumen N31 Server and press Enter, as shown in Figure
7-9.
