RIL is distinctly known for shepherding a new era in fabrics. The flagship brand VIMAL, which was relaunched in the middle of
2007-08, is one of the most trusted brands of premium textiles in the Country. With the commissioning of new investments in
design, modern weaving, state-of-the-art finishing equipments, RIL continues to operate one of the most modern textile
complexes in Asia.

Major growth drivers for VIMAL continued to be retail presence across India, constant innovation in products, cost efficiency and
improved customer service. The division continued adding clients in auto textiles and is now a significant supplier to major
automobile manufacturers in India. The division continued its forays in the defence / police / paramilitary services by supplying
specialised fabrics for their applications.

New product initiatives included:

• Fresca anti-microbial and anti-bacterial work-wear apparel fabrics

• Home furnishing and auto-textiles

• Silk-Amino suiting fabrics

• Fire-retardant and water-repellent tent fabrics for defence/ police services

• Insect & mosquito repellent nets, as per WHO standards, which will find usage in several areas of the world affected by

Last December, Reliance Insiders had hinted about the possible relaunch of
Dhirubhai Ambani's - "Only Vimal" brand. It is now official that the brand will be
relaunched within the next 2 months.
ONLY VIMAL RELAUNCH WITH ITALIAN DESIGNS
Reliance has roped in world famous Italian Designer, Mr. Maurizio Bonas of
"Made in Italy" since a year to teach Italian designs for trousers and jackets to
Indian tailors sponsored and working closely with Vimal.

Mr Maurizio Bonas said,

Reliance is not a small company and the project was interesting. I enjoyed working
with them. We also plan to introduce Bonas Designer label in India through Reliance
and Vimal Retail outlets.
Only Vimal Retail Outlets:
The retail outlets will open in Bangalore / Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Hyderabad and
Mumbai. Mukesh Ambani will inaugurate a flagship store in Ahmadabad. They also
have plans to enter the malls at a later stage.

Mr. Chetan Desai, VP Marketing of Vimal Textiles and Retail said,

We will provide our customers with the best designs and surprise them with prices at
our outlets. We also have an aggressive business plan in place.
