Annual Giving & Fundraising


•Develop auxiliary donor Boards and steward donor relations
•Increase funding opportunities through campaigns, grant writing, appeals and organized
revenue-driven special events,
•Manage finances, including annual budgeting and reporting/analysis
•Work with accountants and auditors for tax reporting
•Manage accounting system, donor giving system and cash pledge fulfillment data base.

Communications and Public Relations


•Develop and implement both schools and university public relations strategies
•Promote mission and programs to general public, educational, non-profit and corporate
markets.
•Oversee alumni and donor database
EDUCATION & CHRONOLOGICAL WORK HISTORY
Bachelor's degree and extended educational certificates in public relations, marketing, grant writing and fund
raising from California State University, Long Beach.
*15 years of experience in successful major gift fund raising/solicitation and cultivation.
* 5 years Director of Annual Giving
* 14 years Director of Alumni Relations

DEVELOPMENT:
·Identify, develop, and implement strategies for a portfolio of top prospects, ranging from cultivation,
solicitation, recognition, and stewardship
·Create and carry out strategic fundraising plans, in consultation with the administrators and other
members of the Development Team, and in support of the University or organization’s campaign
priorities
·Ensure that active and effective strategies are in place for all assigned prospects, corporations,
foundations, and law firms
·Travel independently and with other major gifts fundraisers as needed
·Success with major gift fundraising and expertise in marketing
·Knowledge of fundraising principles and an understanding of a variety of gift vehicles, including
planned giving, complex assets, and gifts of securities
·Ability to articulate the needs of the University and act as spokesperson on issues of interest to
alumni and donors
·Outstanding organizational, time management, and analytical skills, and the ability to manage
multiple fundraising activities and initiatives
·Ability to develop and structure complex gifts
·Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·Knowledge of campaigns and experience in successful relationship-building with prospects,
volunteers, and board members
·Understanding of and enthusiasm for a team approach to fundraising
