World’s Fastest Full-Color Ink Jet Printer Offers Hospitality Industry New Options

MINNEAPOLIS, June 19, 2006 – RISO, a worldwide leader in digital printing technology, is
introducing its ComColor™ printing technology to the hospitality industry at HITEC, booth #106,
with a preview of its new HC5500 Full Color ComColor Printer.

The HC series of printers represents a breakthrough in full color digital printing, delivering an
unparalleled combination of speed, affordability and output quality in one easy-to-use machine.
The HC5500 offers the world’s fastest print speed for full-color inkjet printers – 120 ppm (A4
landscape in normal mode) with running costs as low as $.03 per page in full color. Through this
combination of benefits, the HC5500 fulfills the need for fast and affordable color printing for
everyday communications and enables users to leverage the proven impact of full color in more
documents than ever before.

Key features include:

• High speed. The HC5500 prints 120 pages per minute (ppm) A4 landscape in full color
in normal mode. Duplex printing in normal mode is 92 ppm. The HC5500 prints up to
11”x17”.

• Ability to print on envelopes and on card stock, to handle even more applications. The
HC5500 prints 85 #10 envelopes per minute in full color and accommodates paper
weights from 12# bond to 80# cover (46 g/m2 to 218 g/m2).

• Two powerful print controller options. The HC5500 offers a choice between the PS7R
9000 Adobe® PostScript® 3™ RIP powered by a 3.4GHz Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor
or the HC3R-5000 GDI RIP featuring a 2.9GHz Intel Celeron® Processor and 256 MB of
memory. The PostScript RIP is perfect for high-end printing, while the GDI RIP is ideal
for the typical office environment.

• Advanced driver features. The PostScript RIP offers an Enhanced Forms feature that
enables a double-sided overlay for printing different form images on each side of the
page. Poster printing and watermark printing capabilities come with the GDI controller.

• Optional HS-2000 11”x17” high speed scanner. This offers users walk-up scanning and
copying with scanning speeds of 20 ppm for full color letter size pages, 600 dpi scanning
with new Duo Mode, line recognition and a host of other advanced features.

• Security features. The HC5500 allows users to send secure print jobs from their
computer requiring a password for print release, create user log-in for walk-up use, and
save secure print jobs on the system controller (available with the optional touch panel
display).

• Walk-up features (available with the optional touch panel display). Users can retrieve
stored files or release secure print jobs through the console interface at the unit

Also available is an in-line finisher that offers an array of capabilities, including offset stacking,
stapling, hole punching and booklet making functions.
