 Invertebrates or Animals with no backbone (Science Book page 82 – 84)
 Porifera (sponges)
- Organisms have pores all over the body.
- They live in the water.
- Examples : Spongilla, Euspongia, and Sycon

 Coelenterata
- They have tentacles to catch prey.
- Examples : Jellyfish, sea anemone, coral and hydra

 Platyhelminthes (flat worms)


- Elongated, flat and soft body
- Examples : Planaria and Fasciola

 Nematoda (round worms)


- Elongated cylindrical round body
- Examples : pinworm

 Annelida
- Elongated and segmented body.
- They live in land, fresh water, and marine
- Examples : earthworm, leech, and pacet

 Arthropoda
- Segmented body.
- Can be differentiated into head, thorax, and abdomen.
- Examples : crab, prawn, scorpion, cockroach, bee and spider

 Mollusca
- The bodies are very soft
- They live in terrestrial and aquatic environment.
- Examples: snail, oyster, squid, and octopus.
 Echinodermata
- Marine animals.
- Movement by tube feet.
- Examples : starfish, sea urchin, brittle star
and sea cucumber

 Pisces (Fish)
- Aquatic animals
- Swim with their fins
- Body covered with scales
- Examples : shark and clownfish
 Amphibian
- Partly live in water and partly on land.
- Skin smooth or rough
- Examples: salamander, toad and frog
 Reptile
- Body covered with scales
- They live on land or water
- Examples: turtle, lizard, snake, and crocodile
 Aves (Bird)
- Body covered with feathers
- Fore limbs modified into wings for flight
- Examples: pigeon, sparrow, eagle, and duck
 Mammal
- Body covered with hair
- They have mammary glands.
- Examples: sheep, dog, cow, deer, lion and elephant.
