Instructions

The purpose of Construction_Costs is to give the user a good


record of their construction costs. This record can be a very
valuable item whenever the property is sold.

NEW ENTRY BUTTON:


This button is used to make all of your entries. A dialog box appears where you can enter the date, item, amount, and
the category. If the date is the same as the date of entry, Construction_Costs will enter the date for you, just press the
key. If you are making more than one entry click the Repeat box in the dialog box. Unclick it on your last entry.

GO TO LAST LINE BUTTON:


This button will take you to the last line of your entries.

COMPLETE RECALCULATION BUTTON:


This button recalculates all categories from the entries into the summary.

PRINT SUMMARY OF COSTS BUTTON:


This button sets the print area, and prints the Summary of Costs.

SAVE AS PROJECT & CLEAR BUTTON:


This button is used when the project is completed. A dialog box will appear where you will enter the name of the just
completed project. It will then copy and move the sheet to the right of the Instructions sheet. It will remove no longer n
buttons, and reformat the page. It will then go back to the Costs_by_Date sheet, and clear it for a new project.

ADD COST BUTTON:


Same as the Complete Recalculation button, but only one category is entered. Use this button when you wish to add
only one or two entries to the summary.

ADD CATEGORY BUTTON:


You can add categories to the category list with this button. Enter the name of the new category into the dialog box th
appear, and Construction_Costs does the rest.

DELETE CATEGORY BUTTON:


If you use a general contractor you may wish to delete quite a few of the categories, and add Contractor to the categor
list. Just select the category to be deleted from the dialog box and Construction_Costs will delete it.

RETURN ORIGINAL CATEGORIES BUTTON:


This button can be used to return deleted categories. The user may decide after finishing one project that he requires t
deleted categories from the last project. This button will replace the 26 original categories, but it will also delete any ne
ones the user may have added.

Index Sheet Changes


If you add or remove sheets to the workbook, you should click the New Index button on the Index sheet.
