Is long distance learning as good as in campus learning?

Long distance learning or online learning is a method of delivering educational

material and classes over the internet, instead of a face-to-face classroom setting.
Students and teachers use the internet to access resources, to interact with each
other and to obtain guidance and support throughout the learning process in
order to construct knowledge. Nowadays, people must use long distance learning
because of the pandemic situation and I think that this learning process is as good
as face-to-face learning because students and teachers are able to do almost all
the things they did in campus learning, and even more than that.

Firstly, I think that online learning is as good as in campus learning because

teachers are able to teach in the same way on an online meeting. They are able to
present the content of the courses, to discuss with the students, to share ideas
and to evaluate students’ knowledge. At the same time, students are able to
interact with the courses, to share their own ideas and to ask for more
information when they need it. More than that, online classes offer more
accessibility, so that students with different types of personalities and learning
preferences are able to adapt and to adjust to their preference for classes
participation. As an online student, you have the freedom to jump into group
discussions and chats when you're ready. With a class format that offers
introverted and extroverted students the opportunity to thrive, success is more
accessible in online courses that meet you where you are.

Secondly, online courses are very flexible and since learning programs don’t
require people to be physically present in a classroom, both teachers and
students are free to set their own schedule. Due to this flexibility, many people
managed to discover and enjoy their hobbies, or to develop and improve new
skills. Also, distance learning allows students to learn and work at the same time,
at least to have a part-time job. Of course, this was also possible in campus
learning, but it was very hard for students to set their schedule so that they had
enough time for both classes and job. This flexibility also refers to the fact that
teachers and students can be wherever they want when they have their classes.
Since you can complete a distance-learning course from anywhere, you are not
bound by geography. You can choose any school that offers the program you
want, no matter where it's located anywhere in the country, or even
internationally.

On the other hand, there are a lot of people who think that students are not able
to learn as well as they did before because of the fact that they are free to set
their schedule and because they are always at home and they can be distracted
more easily, but I am not agree with this. In my opinion, long distance learning
helps students to learn to be responsible for themselves, to schedule their time,
to learn independently, to look forward for more information when they need,
but also to interact with people to find out what they need. As an online student,
you’ll get in the habit of learning quite independently, which prepares you for the
type of learning you will likely encounter in the workplace. Many jobs require
periodic training in an online format, as well as some independent research to
supplement new skills or advancements in technology. With experience in both
regards, you can impress future employers with your ability to learn and continue
to grow while on the job. Many online graduates find that since they were already
in the habit of learning and working as a student, they are better prepared to
continue to learn as an employee when the time comes.

In conclusion, I think that online learning is as good as in campus learning or even

better because people have a lot of opportunities to develop their personalities,
their knowledge, to do what they really want, to learn more things and to learn to
be responsible for them.
