Branded Scribd reader

launches for media

Branded Scribd reader launches for media companies!
October 7, 2009

Whether it’s Katie Couric’s

Notebook, President Obama’s YouTube
Fireside Chats, or Anne Curry’s Tweets,
news has become incredibly
transparent.

Today, Scribd is breaking down the last

barrier for news transparency by
launching branded Scribd readers for
leading news outlets and blogs,
including The New York Times, Los
Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, The
Huffington
Post,TechCrunch, Mediabistro.

Branded Scribd readers enable media

companies to share source materials
directly with readers by embedding
court filings, memos, and reports in
news articles; retain official branded
attribution for source materials wherever
they’re shared across the Web; and
offer easy access to news articles by
linking Scribd documents with the
related stories.

In addition to changing the way people

consume news, the branded Scribd
reader offers news organizations a
unique way to present source material as an important part of the story, both on and off their
Websites. For more information about how to apply for the branded Scribd reader or when we’re
planning to launch branded readers for non-media companies, read “Branded Scribd Reader: User
Guide.”
