My name is Permata Dian Pertiwi, also known as Permata. I come from the city of
Semarang, Central Java. Now I am an active student at the University of Jember in the
Petroleum Engineering Study Program. I am very happy and grateful to be able to study at
the University of Jember Petroleum Engineering Study Program because it was my own
choice without any force from anyone. I have several reasons that made me choose and
decide to continue my studies at the Petroleum Engineering Study Program at the University
of Jember. My reasons are not numerous but sufficient to explain briefly. My first reason is
that only Jember University has a Petroleum Engineering Study Program in East Java, so I
chose it. My second reason is that only Jember University Petroleum Engineering studies
geothermal so I am interested in choosing Jember University Petroleum Engineering
compared to other universities that also have Petroleum Engineering. The next reason I chose
Jember University Petroleum Engineering is because it has many facilities that support
academic and non-academic activities for students and here also has many competent and
highly dedicated lecturers who are ready to guide students to become useful people in the
future.

Petroleum Engineering isn’t that foreign to my ears, because I made up my mind to

want to learn it from the time I was in high school. I didn't know much about it before, but
my reasons were able to convince me of my intentions. I reasoned that I chose Petroleum
Engineering because I like natural resources, especially oil and gas. In addition, Petroleum
Engineering graduates have promising job prospects. My next reason is that I am very
interested in testing the oil and gas reserves that exist throughout Indonesia because I believe
Indonesia's territory is very compatible with oil and gas resources.

My plan for the future is that I want to dig deeper into natural resources, especially
petroleum in Indonesia, in a wise way too. I hope that when I continue my studies at the
University of Jember I can gain new knowledge, new skills, and something new that I don't
know yet which will be useful for me in my future career. I also hope to be one of the
students who is active in developing my potential. In my career, I hope to get a job that
matches my passion. Besides that, I also want to be the pride of my parents, siblings, and
other people who know me when I graduate from the University of Jember.
