Disassembly Procedure
Please follow the information provided in this section to perform the complete
disassembly procedure of the notebook. Be sure to use proper tools described
before.

T
he C90 Notebook consists of various modules. This chapter describes the procedures for the
complete notebook disassembly. In addition, in between procedures, the detailed disassembly
procedure of individual modules will be provided for your service needs.

The disassembly procedure consists of the following steps:

• Battery Module
• CPU Module
• Memory Module
• HDD Module
• Optical Drive Module
• WLAN Module
• GPU Module
• Fan Set
• Motherboard Module
• Keyboard Module
• Top Case Module
• LCD Module

B A T T E R Y
Battery Module
The illustration below shows how to remove the battery module.

Remove Battery module

1．Slide the battery latch and pull the battery out of the system.

CPU Module
The illustrations below show how to remove the CPU module from the notebook.

Removing CPU module

1. Remove 4 screws on bottom case and remove the bottom case cover.

2. Remove 4 screws and then take the CPU heat sink away.

3. Press the CPU latch slightly to move it out of the hook then turn over the bracket.

1. Unscrew and remove 2 screws here and pull the hard disk module toward the direction of

W L A N WLAN Module

The illustrations below show how to remove the WLAN module from the notebook.

Remove WLAN module

W L A N 1. Disconnect the two antennas here and then remove 2 screws on WLAN module to pop it up at
M O D U L E 30 degree angles and then pull it out at that angle.

GPU Module
The illustrations below show how to remove the GPU module from the notebook.

Removing GPU module

1. Remove 3 screws on GPU heat sink and remove it.

2. Remove 2 screws on GPU board to pop it up at 30 degree angles and then pull it
out at that angle.

3. Remove 4 screws on the bracket here and then separate it from VGA board.

4. Remove 3 screws on North bridge Heat Sink module and then take it away.

FAN Module
The illustrations below show how to remove the FAN module from the notebook.

1. Disconnect the two Fan cables with mother board.

Motherboard

1. Remove the two hinge covers.

2. Connect the LVDS cable with mother board.

3. Remove 1 screw here on the right hinge slot and then disconnect 2 cables here.

4. Remove 2 screws on the front side of the system.

5. Remove 1 screw here on the bottom case.

6. Separate the Top case from the bottom case, *before that remember to remove SD dummy
card and E-express dummy card from the system.

7. Remove 7 screws here on IO Bar and then remove it.

8. Remove 2 screws from IO Bar and then take the TV-IN board away.

9. Remove 2 screws on Power Extend board and then remove the board.

10. Disconnect the USB cable from mother board.

11. Disconnect the keyboard FPC from mother board.

Removing Keyboard Cable

1. Use a flexible connector tool to unlock the cable connector on both ends (no. 1).
2. Carefully pull out the keyboard cable (no. 2) with a pair of tweezers.
3. Lock the connector (no. 3) again to avoid possible breakage.

12. Remove 3 screws on mother board.

13. Remove mother board from top case.*Lift the edge of bottom case slightly while removing
the mother board module.

14. Disconnect MODEM cable from mother board.

15. Remove 2 screws on MODEM and then remove it from mother board.

16. Disconnect TPM module from mother board and then take it away.

17. Remove 7 screws here on bottom case and then remove it.

K E Y B O A R D Keyboard Module
The illustration of below shows how to remove the keyboard
Removing Keyboard
1. Open 4 latches (Esc, F6, F11, and Pause) on keyboard module.

2. Turn over the keyboard plate and remove it.

Top Case Module

T O P C A S E
The illustrations below show how to disassemble and remove the top case module of the notebook.

Removing Top Case Module

1. Remove 2 screws on USB board and then take the board away.

2. Remove 1 piece of tape here and then disconnect Touch pad FPC from Touch pad board.

3. Remove 4 screws on Finger board bracket and then remove the bracket.

4. Remove 2 screws on Finger print board, and then separate it from the bracket.

5. Remove 2 screws on each speaker and then remove them from top case.

6. Remove Bluetooth module from top case.

L C D M O D U L E LCD Module
The illustrations below show how to remove and disassemble the LCD module.The
module contains LCD panel, Inverter board, LCD bezel, LCD back cover.

I S A S S E M B L Y 1. Remove 6 rubber pads and 2 rubber bars here and then remove 6 screws on LCD front
bezel.

2. Pry the inside edges softly to separate LCD front bezel from LCD panel and take it away.

3. Remove 2 screws on Inverter board.

4. Disconnect inverter cable and LCD cable from inverter board and take away the inverter
board.

5. Remove 2 screws here and then take away the LCD TFT.

 Disassembly procedure

6. Remove 4 screws on each LCD bracket and take both brackets away.

7. Remove 2 pieces of tape here and disconnect Coaxial cable from LCD TFT, and then
remove the coaxial cable.

8. Remove 2 screws on each hinge and take both hinges away.

9. Remove the camera cover and then remove 3 screws here.

10. Remove the plastic bracket here and then move out the camera from its compartment.

11．Unfix 8 pieces of tape here and then take microphone out of the slot.

12. Remove the camera module and microphone module from LCD back cover.

13. Unfix 3 pieces of tape here and then remove the white antenna from LCD back cover.

14. Unfix 3 pieces of tape here and then remove the black and grey antennas from LCD back
cover.
