INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Read the first page of "How to Pray Salat" and discuss the phrase
"Salah is a pillar of Islam, it is the foundation of our faith".
Ask the children what a foundation and pillar is. What are the other four pillars in
Islam?
2. Read the last page of the book and ask the children to think of their own points
of why we pray such as we ask Allah for help and to Thank him.
3. Have the children fill out their answers on the adjoining worksheet.

EXTENSION READING AND ACTIVITIES :

1. Read the book "Luqman's advice to His son" from Goodword and ask the
children to retell it to you.
2. Read the book "The Traveller from the Heavens" from Goodword and have the
children write a poem about Salah based on how the book is written.
